Bjornfoot wasn't good last night....but thats the least of our problems....he can play himself back to where he was....

Last night was a meh game, about the only thing they did great, was keep MacKinnon in check.....

It's crazy people wanted to trade him earlier in the year.
Kempe might be pricing himself off the team. Could end up packaged for a scoring upgrade.

Wish I were joking. Would suck to see him break out & end up moved.

And Iafallo was the whipping boy before that. It's crazy.

I guess the best thing about COVID for sports is really showing teams who their MVPs are.

I really hate to say this but Doughty is kinda giving me those Jack Johnson vibes this year. It's like Durzi is way more risky than Doughty but Doughty has been making some really egregious mistakes lately. Definitely surprised how well the team did with Doughty out on that road trip. I expect that he will raise his game, along with Kopitar.

I think all of us have been a bit emotional lately about this team and some of the bad games on this current streak. It's that weird transitional period where we see the team finally turning a corner and our expectations are a bit too high. We aren't that perennial division winner/playoff performer yet, but we are getting there. I'm going to remain optimistic but patient. We have so many good things ahead of us. Just think, we still have guys like Clarke, Faber, Spence, Vilardi, JAD and others waiting in the wings.

One happy player for the Kings was Kempe, he just added a million to his AAV. A least he is an RFA.
1 million? And the rest. It’ll be an interesting deal that he gets. As you say thankfully he’s a RFA but he will get much more than an extra million if we are buying UFA years.

Entirely possible unfortunately but I think they try to move Arvidsson first.

It's been really tough because you see a team come out and not just win, but DOMINATE Pittsburgh, and break a number of other top teams' hot streaks...then come out and barely survive against Seattle before shitting the bed against SJS. If it weren't for those, the TBL game and the Avs game would be fine because they were just coverage brain farts for the most part, dumb mistakes that can be ironed out, rather than 'bad play.' Like the Nashville game--the Kings aren't good enough yet to just 'play good' against a true contender's 'average' game, but that doesn't mean they played bad. It's been a roller coaster two weeks to be a fan. BUT the most important thing is it does look like this is a team that will only be improving from here, these have all been important growth steps, even doing stupid shit against the sharks is a learning moment.

yeah, because removing those two will fix our top pp unit, and pk , right? Those two issues are killing this team right now. 4 out of the 5 pp had ZERO SHOTS ! Back to back to back games giving up the first goal because of a bad penalty, then followed up by a shorty ...AGAIN ! That shorty killed the team once again. game over.period! Another self inflicted loss!
Blame Brown and Maata!

not sure why you'd single out my posts acting like that's the only thing i'm blaming when i spent this entire thread ripping on kopitar and doughty's collective "effort" and the PP but whatever

if they let brown walk, there's $5M+ sitting there free for kempe and kopi's deal expires right as the best kids' RFAs come up.. i reckon you can afford to pay kempe without much fuss

Some say he will sign between 4-5. I think it will be closer to 6 depending on UFA years.

I think it'd be a mistake to trade him. He's been arguably our best player this season and only seems to be getting better. He's turning into the scoring winger we all hoped he'd be and he's very defensively responsible. What we really need is another one of him. I think he'll get a contract here considering Brown and AA will be off the books next season

Just stopped by to say how amazed I was at Byfield's play last night; the haters may soon realize that he may very well be the best pick from his draft year.

The whole hating on other teams' prospects thing is so strange to me...kinda f***ed up when people are hoping that a teenager will fail to reach his dreams.

I don't even think this one is team specific (minus the Ott fans that flip flopped) really, there was some long-term really strange Byfield hate across all his threads, basically calling him a bust before being draft, ceiling is a 3C, wouldn't draft in the top-10, etc.

Entirely possible unfortunately but I think they try to move Arvidsson first.

If it was my decision I would trade Arvidsson today.
Third round pick sounds just fine to me.
Also I would trade:
ATHANASIOU, BROWN, GRUNDSTROM, MOORE, L.ANDERSSON and MAATTA.

The Kings are addicted to dumpster bin guys who put up shots but aren’t clutch shooters. It’s a hall mark of Blake’s tenure. Cammelleri, Kovalchuk, Frk and now Arvidsson. You can’t get money players with $30+ M going to guys who aren’t clutch.
