GDT: 2021-22 season game 12 LA Kings vs Toronto Maple Leafs @4:30pm 11/8/21

The fact that we're even comparing Danault to Richards shows how valuable he has been, taking over on nights Kopitar doesn't and serving that 2C role that has always been so hard to fill. That enthusiasm he brings and making Iafallo a better player is worth every penny and then some. I'm hoping everyone has started to come around now.

You can’t compare anyone to Richards, people get easily offended for some reason even if your intentions are to praise Danault.

Weird fan base that loves to crap on its best players.

Because he was a huge part of giving away momentum to Toronto during every single shift he took in the second and third period up until the 5th in the empty net. The Kopitar lines shifts were essentially penalty kills all night because Gramps was totally lost in the pace of the game.

The worst momentum line was certainly the Kupari one, they were terrible outside of the one goal. Couldn't keep possession or generate much despite very favorable zone deployments, and a lot of that had to do with their matchup. In any case Brown wasn't dragging that line down, that was Kopitar. He had a terrible game last night, one of the worst Kings players on the ice. Brown and Kempe were much better than Anze was, but a lot of that was also due to matchup.

If the Kopitar line did a great job all game against Matthews and Nylander, why would you not use them just because there is an empty net? Seems like you would want the line out there that shut them down for the previous 55 minutes.

I can’t get used to people talking about the Kings having speed… it’s just weird.

I had a good giggle when the commentators mentioned, i believe it was 1st period, that the coach said after last game that we are not using speed.

Apparently we had a meeting before the game where he mentioned, hey guys..... from now on we play with speed.
Can't wait for the goal scoring meeting

"i don't even know if he has a curve in his stick" classic

love complaining about the refs and the "kick" though, it's just essential to being a leafs fan to ignore everything they do wrong

He's actually very realistic for a leaf fan. He's reasonable. The best ones to watch are the losses...lol (go watch the one when the lafs lost to habs in game 7, epic)

Simple fact is that TM isn't doing special deployment to defend against empty nets, same thing happened two games ago when AA was on the ice with Danault and Iafallo. He's just using the even strength line no matter what.

So everyone stop complaining about it before I video game myself in frustration.

Its not just Brown. Kempe is pretty bad in the defensive zone, unless he is blowing coverage and taking penalties. They really need to promote Moore to that line, Kopi needs a puck hound and you can’t take AI off the 2nd line.

Kempe is just a place holder for Arvidsson.

Anyone have any update on him? it was covid right?

Arvidsson was clearly the engine that made that line tick and they need him back badly.

Would like to see RV, Kopi, and Vilardi as a line 1. PP1 could use both those guys as well.
