I wanted Byfield to have a solid winger next to him to help his transition to the NHL. Like Iafallo.

Grundstrom and Brown it is hahahaha

So the answer is to juggle all the other lines to make a better transition for Byfield? Not following the logic...

lol.. I was thinking the same. Thought it was a joke at first. But what is really sad is that 10 people thought it was true!
Did I miss something here or are Kings fans that unknowledgeable.

Jesus, here, use this web site folks: QuantHockey.com

It wasn't the last 11 games for each player, it was the same thing he did, summed up the stats i wanted everyone to see.

If you're gonna slap the rookies with minuses, better look at what the 'stars' and vets have been doing the last few games, as well.

If anything, the rookies haven't been productive 7 WHOLE GAMES into their NHL career...but they've been better defensively than the guys that have been here for years. That was the whole point of that dishonest presentation.

But you're right--PLAY BROWN MORE

We were SO CLOSE to a Turcotte-Byfield-ANYTHING BUT BROWN line but sure, let's activate hard mode and see if he can swim anyway with a guy coming back from THREE WEEKS OFF and a guy who can't get out of the neutral zone on any given shift.

Turcotte is lucky he's got this many games without being sent back...he's really shown nothing but that he can skate hard. (and for the record, I want Turcotte to be GREAT)

I would prefer Turcotte-Byfeild-Brown over Grundstrom.

I care more about next season than tonight's game.

It's not the end of the world but I just think it is funny that these are his wingers tonight. The last player I wanted on his wing before the season started was Brown. I want him to at least have one winger that can keep a cycle going and make smart plays.

The two lines that you want to keep together are Danault's and Lizotte's. Anything else is fair game tonight, IMO.

I think Lizotte and Lemieux need to stay together, but the other member can change

He's shown he can dig the puck for guys that can't finish--would be nice to see him with guys that can

but if you're going to bench him, just send him down, pointless to sideline him

Don't understand all the Brown hate. He is not a top line player anymore, but if he is put there that's not him IMO. I think he should be a 3rd line guy who get PP time at this point. A lot of players have talked about Brown's leadership, so why not have QB with him?

The guy literally cannot carry the puck, can’t cycle, blows defensive coverages, and turns any sort of odd-man chance into a turnover headed back the other direction. Those are all things that aren’t going to help any prospect find their game. Especially our 2nd overall prized thoroughbred.

He is an absolute 5-on-5 liability, and can only produce when spoon fed PP time with 4 other players who can do the heavy lifting for him.

Dustin is cooked.

He can barely skate. Stands there flat footed most of the time and turns the puck over pretty much every time he touches it. When was the last time you saw him enter the zone with his linemates or cycle with his linemates?
Hes good in front of the net and still knows how to put the puck in the net. Its just hard for him to get there especially 5 vs 5 and its not fair to a rookie to have that burden and suffer the consequence when he cant produce by himself.

being on the same TEAM as brown is probably awesome for him but i'm not sure he needs to be on the same LINE to receive the benefits

i'm hoping this problem resolves itself over the offseason but i can't lie, i fear brown might get strung along on sweetheart 1yr deals ala jumbo

Well, Brown looked much better in limited minutes. Little bit of the "crusher/rusher/usher" thing with him. Seemed like he was looking to be more physical in the limited minutes: he's best as a crusher at this point. When he gets put with Kopitar and has to play more minutes, he turns into 1st line rusher Dustin and he sucks, making everyone want him to be an usher.

If he's in that 12 minute range, he should play better. Just looked at his last five games and it wasn't just my eyes: minutes increased significantly the last two games and, in those games, he was credited with zero hits.

Brown has never been able to skate. My wife and I often joke about how many times we see him fall in game (that's arvidsson now). Your second paragraph is why I still have time for him on the PP and 3rd line. He is good in front, and he is decent at handling the puck in front with pressure on him. Can he skate the puck into the opponents end, no, but he never really could. I think we will see a lot of Brown dumping it in (he is still decent at getting it deep), and having QB and Grundstrom crashing into the Avs D. Probably the tactic that should have been used against Tampa when they only had 4 d.
