It’s clear this team doesn’t need any more bottom 6ers. We need top sixers whether that be a long term top tier guy like Eichel or Landeskog, or some bridge guys(Saad,Danault)until our prospects have marinated…

So...

Iafallo – Kopitar – Arvidsson
Kempe – Vilardi – AA
Andersson – Byfield – Brown
Moore – JAD – Wagner
Extra: Lemieux, Grundstrom, Lizotte

Frk? Byfield can now go to the AHL, so he's not a lock. Kupari is knocking.

The bottom 6 is ridiculously packed, so its hard to assess who will fill that. This is assuming Byfield is the only rookie breaking the lineup.

Acquiring a top 6 winger:
Iafallo – Kopitar – Saad/Bertuzzi/Tarasenko
Kempe – Vilardi – Arvidsson
Andersson – Byfield – Brown
Moore – JAD – AA
Extra: Lemieux, Grundstrom, Lizotte, Wagner

OR

Acquiring a 2C
Iafallo – Kopitar – Arvidsson
Vilardi– Danault/Krejci – Kempe
Andersson – Byfield – Brown
Moore – JAD – AA
Extra: Lemieux, Frk, Grundstrom, Lizotte, Wagner

I would say that's a playoff team in the pacific. Only Edmonton and Vegas have a legit lineup.

Too many players.....This speaks to a few trades or a UFA signing coming in the next couple weeks.

My 2 cents based on this projected lineup and what we need to improve for a playoff run.

We replaced Carter with Arvidsson. Could be seen as a lateral move because we never had Carter play with Kopi which might have been just as productive. Yet to be seen what Arvidsson can bring.
We need a vet C if Byfield starts in the AHL, hence some of the rumors about Danault.
We need a scoring winger
We need a D man.
We need to clear some bodies from the bottom 6.

Yannetti did his job, now it's Blake's turn.

They're not going to have 4-5 extra forwards, and anyone making NHL money is probably unlikely to be in the AHL, all things being equal.

Since they didn't lose anyone to Seattle, and they're bringing AA back, and since nobody in the bottom 6 is worth much, or has proven to be a missing depth player on a good team, I don't know who they're trading in that bunch. I don't know what other guys they're bringing in at this point. Unless Kempe and Vilardi are included in some larger package for Eichel. There's just no room to sign Saad or Schwartz, or whoever.

I don't want any dumpster dive forwards.

We have plenty of forwards already set to compete for a spot in the top twelve. If we can't add someone that is provably, demonstrably better than what we already have, I'll pass.

You can keep your "well, maybe he'll rebound?" players, thanks.

One billion likes!

I would go for Pius Suter over Saad in a blink.

1. age we don't have;
2. versatile;
3. excellent ES metrics;
4. likely cheaper.

The guy is essentially Tanner Pearson with more scoring upside. Same relatively vanilla game though, which would anger people here. And not a big angry dude either, or a lightning fast skater. Basically, a really effective value player that isn't flashy or pissed off enough for this forum to enjoy.

And he was a rookie last year. He should be even better the next few years.

Most of the time when you get a stab at a UFA they're around 28. Pius just turned 25. He can play center or wing.

There’s a ton of competition up front and I see at least 2 forwards being traded. They really need a defenseman bad.

No idea why Blake was not in on the Gostisbehere trade. Would of gave up Wagner for him.

Also signing AA wonder if this is due to not liking the trade market right now, or feeling confident they going to bring in a good UFA.

I don’t get the craziness over Pius Suter, 24 year old rookie that got to center a 40 goal scorer in Debrincat and Patty Kane.

Kane has 66, Debrincat had 56 and Suter had 27. Feels like the exact player someone overpays for and finds he’s not that great when he’s not sheltered by all stars.

Because he is expensive, small, and can’t play a lick of Defence. 30 other teams also passed in him twice

D that can’t D, forwards that can’t score, goalies that can’t stop a beach ball. He’d fit right in here. ;) Also pretty sure he has zero toughness too. He’s practically got the Kings tattoo…

I wouldn't mind signing David Krejci to a 2 year deal. Productive two-way veteran playmaker; put him with Kaliyev or Vilardi and see what they can do.

Iafallo - Kopitar - Arvidsson
Kempe - Krejci - Kaliyev
Brown - Byfield - Vilardi
Moore - JAD - Athanasiou

*Grundstrom , Lemieux

Almost spit my supper out laughing at this

I watched quite a bit of Hawks hockey. Suter isn't going to drive the offense.

You want to fix the offense? Start by getting defense that can retrieve and pass the puck.
Because after Doughty, the Kings' defense is about as bad as Detroit's.

Sign Ryan Suter and Alex Goligoski.
Watch how much better your second and third lines will be.
You can't ask your forwards to create offense when they're reaching for passes behind them, or chasing passes into the neutral zone, or digging them out of their skates.

Maybe you buy out Dustin Brown, but that seems pointless at this stage - plus he helps the PP.

Arvidsson Kopitar Kempe
Iafallo Byfield Athanasiou
Andersson Vilardi Moore
Lizotte JAD Brown

Anderson Doughty
Suter Walker
Whoever Goligoski
