Really not sure some posters were watching the same Lemieux I was. Yeah he's not a heavyweight, but this is a guy with NO hesitancy to drop the gloves. Punched Josh Manson--a huge kid--right out of the lineup simply for daring to push him for crashing the net, and was about to MURDER a 6'5" Ryan Graves after standing up for himself after a clean hit. I'd ice him 6 times if i could, especially with this team, a ferrari with a pinto engine.

Thank you, I thought it was just me which is why I stayed silent. He seemed to have a quiet start so perhaps by the time he started showing a bit of grit everyone had switched off as the team mostly had. I’d be quite happy hanging onto him as an agitator unless we can get an upgrade in the role. He doesn’t fill the enforcer role but he shouldn’t be expected to.

i just expect a bit more agitation night-in, night-out from a guy who's really only in the lineup to agitate

the man's got balls, no doubt about it, but i would've liked to see more grimey stuff instead of just responding to it

Absolutely nonsensical that the Kings would look to deal Lemieux, now that MacDermid is a Kraken. I’m glad the Kraken didn’t pick him. The Kings need a guy who can skate a shift, throw a hit, score a few goals, and take and give some punches.

Give Lemieux time, he’ll become a key player.

Kings need a forward. Schwartz (UFA) or Reinhart (RFA) would be good targets & better than taking a cap dump. Rinehart needs a trade & Schwartz can be signed.

Blues need to move a disgruntled Tarasenko (7.5 X 2) so that they have money to bring back guys like Schwartz. Tarasenko has an NTC & doesn't want to go to Kings.

Philly would like to swap Voracek (8M X 3) for Tarasenko. From lurking Philly boards Tarasenko seems ok with Philly. Blues don't want to take back salary.

Solution Tarasenko to Philly, Voracek to Kings. What is the compensation for the Kings passing on signing a UFA like Schwartz & taking on 3 years of Voracek (who still puts up points)?

My answer, philly's 13th over all. That would put the Kings in a position to draft Cossa or use the 1st in a trade for someone like Reinhart. Blues have the 16th pick so maybe that first will work for what the Kings are looking for, or the just sign a UFA.

Timing, needs to happen by UFA day & unless Philly, Blues want the pick to be in next years draft, by draft day.

Any other trade for a Douin or Johnson has to be better than say a Schwartz signing UFA.

He had a couple obligatory scraps. Most of the time he was very stale just like everybody else.

I was unimpressed.

Lemieux came to our team during Covid where nobody could go out nobody could socialize and nobody could really get to know each other.

He also came out a time where the kings were pretty much out of the season, the spark was almost already gone, and really there was no need to try and stick up for anyone, especially people he doesn’t know.

I am hoping now that he has time toGet to really know his teammates and they have at least a belief that they will be competitive to start the season that we will see a different or energized Lemieux

With the loss of her only other muscle on the team I hope we do something to address the lack of grit issue.

The NHL is becoming like the NFL where name players can be had for nothing or just get released. All though you can't exactly do the latter just yet. Guaranteed contracts.

Age isn’t on his side but I’m not sure he’s declining. Still averaging close to a point a game and it’s more impressive considering his HC is a f***stick.

I think Lemieux is going to see more ice time by default. But someone needs to tell him to throw some hits. If winning a fight is the sole highlight from a trial run on a bad team, then there is a lot of work to do.

And I don’t think a lack of beer reps at the bar with his teammates makes a difference one way or another. The guy was known as a pest who wasn’t afraid to drop the gloves and stand up for his teammates. I can’t recall his being noticeable outside of one fight, never mind reaching the level of a pest.

He has a role if he can get the other teams better players off their game. We’ve seen none of that so far. If he can do that, then the trade was good. He has the track record. So it’s up to coach Todd to get the best out of him. Which is probably the real blocker here with Lemieux and every single player not named Kopitar, Doughty and maybe Brown.

Just looking at the situation. Seems a bit backed up. Some amusing options. Kings could facilitate a Tarasenko to Philly trade so that Blues can sign Schwartz. What is it worth to them? Kings could also bid against the Blues in free agency.

Seattle's unwillingness to take on cap has created quite the blockade league wide.

Glad that Brickley's father got to see him play with us before he passed. Too bad he couldn't cement a spot. Also a little bummed about Luff. Stothers was high on him and at first blush he seemed like he might be able to snipe some goals but in the end, just another Scott Barney without the bad back.
