Signing Hamilton opens up a huge trade chip in Roy and a smaller one in Walker. Doughty, Hamilton back to back cover at least 45 mins a night minimum on that right side. Throw Strand out there to mop up the remaining 12 - 15 mins and thats a good right side with Size and good offence.

This team is far, far better off with Roy than Hamilton.

20 minute a night right shot Dman on a good contract should gather some interest.

This team is far, far better off with Roy than Hamilton.

I like Roy, although I was kind of disappointed with him this season.

My point was though, calling him a "huge" trade chip seems kind of ridiculous. He's not going to be viewed by potential trading partners as anything more than a completely average NHL defensemen.

Not sure what to make of it. While he was a part of the cup runs, I always thought it was more of DL's doing than him. I thought he was just the legal/cap guy. Hope he likes working within a tight budget.

If I'm the Kraken & choosing between Clague & Lizzote, Wagner, Grundstrom, Quick is who I grab. There are younger goalie options out there, but losing Quick punches a much bigger hole in the heart & soul of a division rival than losing a 4th liner. Would force Cal into the starting role next season.

Not the heart and soul of a bottom of the league team with 1 playoff win in 7 years. Oh no.

Correct, not sure if others have assumed that role under their current titles, but this all seems like it could relate to AEG’s cost cutting measures.

It would likely be the case, but then again, Jeff Solomon also made that switch from agent to management.
