Yep.
And Brown-Pilled is good....er, a good moniker....but bad thing to happen to someone.

Lias is being setup to fail now. For 2 reasons:
1. Brown-Lined
2. Put at center. He's been playing LW for a year now and has developed a great forechecking game there and board game. Now will be center, where he has not played in some time and not what his strengths are.

Please play Durzi with anyone but Maatta.

Also 5 bucks they turnover the puck early and he doesn't see PP time at all.

And Lias at center is...a headscratcher to be polite.
 
The Olli Maatta dragdown is real and this is almost exactly how it looks with Olli and every dman on the team:

And if you run thru them all as an exercise you'll see the team is nearly 60% GF% at 5v5 without Olli Maatta on the ice, +/- 30 GF, +/- 15 GA. It's an absurd difference.

I assume whenever Byfield is due back -which should be soon right?- someone is getting traded. We already have a pretty deep pool to pull from upfront and there's not much good to sending someone else down just due to congestion in the minors and that guys like Kaliyev and Kupari should stay up in my opinion.

While I'm not a Maatta fan either, it's normal to pair a kid with a vet. Clague and Durzi have a combined 33 games of NHL experience.

I assume he will go to the AHL for some time. May even play in the world juniors. Kick the can down the road in case of injury or for someone to overpay for AA, Moore, or someone else.

Get Brown-Pilled. I think management is Brown-Pilled, but TM is trying to make the Brown-Pile work somehow.

I hope they designate Brown to be Brown-Holed. Afterall, he's Brown-Lined line 1, goes to line 3 and Brown-Lined Kupari. Kupari gets Brown-Holed. And he's about to Brown-Line Lias down the crapper.

If a trade happens it cant be a 1 for 1 as the logjam will continue. It will either be for picks which isn't very sexy but a 2 player and pick for a better than average player would be huge.

agreed 2 for 1 is what I would be looking for if I was in Blake's shoes.
However Picks are stull very valuable imo, I would want 2 or 3 drafts out as I would be looking to use those picks as capital down the road.

They're not trading a guy playing in their top 6 to make room for a prospect. Not while they're in the race.

How good are the 2 guys going out if the only picks you're giving up are in 2024?
 
Sounds like 1 player could be entering covid protocol, per a tweet by DB. AA and Brown are both off the ice today.
