there are bigger issues for sure. I just don't think he is destined to be a king long term, so at what point does he get moved to bring in someone who maybe a king longterm?

At the deadline if the Kings are out of the race. For a mid rd pick or two.

Listened to the Athletic podcast - they promoting a subscription deal for this week - $1/mo for 12 months. To get this deal, head to: www.theathletic.com/hockeyshow.

I signed up and thought I’d check them out for the year.

That's what I did...last year? Two years ago? Well worth it ever since. I know some people either love or hate the format but if nothing else I find it a 'different' look.

Less so for the Kings and more for everything else. I appreciate Dillman and I think she's a great writer, but she doesn't necessarily get greater access than anyone else

One of the reasons Durzi does so well on the Reign is because his teammates can actually finish. Who is he supposed to pass to on the Kings that can actually score? Only Kaliyev if we're lucky they're both on the same PP.

You called it, looks like. Brown killed Kupari.

just...kind of infuriating. I guess Lias is the next on the chopping block to get Brown-pilled.

Jesus effing Christ.

There's your merit system in place, folks. Playing well isn't honored here, you get sat so the vets don't get their feelings hurt.

Kupari centering Moore and Grundstrom was working just fine, can't tell the geezer to stay home because he is the next frat boy getting the skills development job in Ontario.

BuT CoAChes JUsT pLay tO wIn!!!!!!

Heck, remember when Kaliyev broke out Kupari in one of their few shifts together?

Maybe it will be Lemieux - Kupari - Kaliyev (though that means Lizotte gets sat).

Andersson was just the right mix of piss and puck hound to fit well with Kopitar.

Francisco Pinelli
Elite Prospects Scouting article
Pinelli has 20 pts in 17 games and is +3 for a -10 team that is 8-10

Francesco Pinelli, C, Kitchener Rangers
On the ice, Pinelli is an architect. Few can match his foresight in planning offensive sequences. He knows exactly how to move pieces around, how to both build and deconstruct structures to move the disc from point A to point B, from his stick to the back of the net. This ability to command the ice, to control the opposition and connect with teammates, is why we ranked Pinelli at 16th overall last season.
At the time, it was a bit of a leap of faith, however, as we hadn't seen the high-level displays of hockey sense in his draft year, when he played in Slovenia, as frequently as in his 16-year-old season with the Kitchener Rangers. But they are back in full force now that Pinelli returned to the OHL, giving us a bit more confidence in our projection.
His performance against Flint last week was especially memorable.

There are three ways a player can manipulate the opposition: by moving, by deceiving, and by using teammates. Pinelli does all three.
In a 3-on-2 in the video above, he knows that the most dangerous option is his teammate coming in through the middle of the ice, but Pinelli doesn't reveal his intention to pass to him. He keeps the puck at his side and looks at the defenders, pushing them back by forcing them to respect both the threat of a shot and of a pass across. When he gets deep enough in the offensive zone, when his trailing teammate reaches the slot, Pinelli drops the puck to him for an open shot.
In another rush sequence, a 3 vs 3 this time, Pinelli attacks the middle of the ice himself. He collapses the defensive formation around him and breaks through it, beating two defenders. He then initiates a give-and-go with one of his teammates to jump past the remaining opponent. He receives the puck in the slot and scores.
The forward's NHL projection remains limited by the same weaknesses — his skating lacks energy and his physical game lags behind other top prospects — but it's good to see Pinelli show his creativity and intelligence constantly in this start to the season.

Perfect 4th line checker!

Do we actually know Kupari is demoted/scratched? What are the other lines?

Here’s how the Kings lined up today –
Kempe – Kopitar – Arvidsson
Iafallo – Danault – Athanasiou
Moore – Andersson – Brown
Lemieux – Lizotte – Kaliyev
Grundstrom, Kupari

Edler – Roy
Bjornfot – Anderson
Maatta – Durzi
Clague – Doughty

Quick / Petersen

Sounds good, i don't think i would even wait that long though.

Odds are they'll have to wait that long. If the Kings remain relatively close, they're not going to tank. There aren't that many trades these days anyway.
