Kings’ Top-6 is Amongst the League’s Best
https://thehockeywriters.com/kings-top-6-league-best-2021-22/

Arvidsson-Kopitar-Brown:
The top line’s expected goals percentage (xGoals%) is 62.8%, good enough for sixth in the league.

They also post some of the league’s best possession metrics, with a 55.5% Corsi for Percentage (CF%) and a 60.4% Fenwick for Percentage (FF%), good for 12 and fourth in the league.

Iafallo-Danault-Kempe:
They’re currently the best possession line in hockey. They’re posting a 64.6% in both CF% and FF%, leading the league in both categories.

Their five goals 5v5 is tied for third-best in the league, with their 4.5 expected goals for placing them fifth in the league.

And there's still people around here who can't figure out the value Danault brings. Kopitar's total OZ% is all the way up to 60% now; a career high since his rookie season.

I'd love to get Chychrun but Yotes will ask for Turcotte, Toby and a 1st just to start. Man that's a steep price to pay but might just be worth it.

Arizona traded away anyone they could except Chychrun and Keller. Keller I honestly wonder if that's due to cap hit because the production isn't there and they have to hit the floor somehow. They have no intention of dealing Chychrun so if he goes it'll be because he demanded it or someone threw a ridiculous offer at them. Considering they own 25% of all draft picks ever right now and need to replace Chychrun's cap hit to stay above the floor one would think it'd have to be guys in or close to the NHL, so yeah, Turcotte, Bjornfot, Kaliyev, etc would be easy targets. He'd be a wonderful add but the price is going to sting.

Where the f*** is everybody?

Is that a photo from the last time you were here?

With all the comebacks it's like 2014 all over again in here. Minus the Stanley Cup of course.

Anyone attended a game yet with kids where you have to show negative Covid test for them? How did that go, what exactly are they accepting for proof?
Hello Axl, not sure if anyone has answered you yet. I just went to the game on Sunday and took my 10 year old daughter. She got tested on site. If you go to Staples Center website, they have a tab for Covid info and you can pre sign up to do testing there. It is done in the parking structure next to LA Live and they text you the results in 15 minutes or less. Then you just hold up your phone to the door staff at Staples Center. Hopefully this info helps.

I think there's only two ways Chychrun leaves:
  1. He gets emotionally drained playing for such an epic tank machine that he requests a trade
  2. He comes up on his contract negotiations and the owners try to cheapskate him out of the $9-10M contract his agent will ask for
In either case, I'm not sure there's a team in a better position to trade for him given all the assets we have. It helps that were not in their division anymore either.

Thanks for the response, a few days late as I went to the game on Sun as well...GREAT GAME, ha! Yah, I wasn't clear if they would be looking for some type of ID for your kids to match the test results....they weren't obviously, which makes the whole thing kinda of odd, but whatever.

Sounds like the same thing they were doing at Ontario Reign games which was a lot simpler than I thought.

Hopefully starts turning into wins against non bottom feeder clubs

Chychrun would be a huge addition. Or Byram. That kind of dman is the missing link here. Does that and Clarke make Doughty expendable?
I also think a Greenway/Crouse - Helenius - Lemieux 4th line is something the team needs when they play the heavies in the central division

Yeah, all the other young punks got between 9-9.5, all long term deals. You have to think that's where it will start.

Whats giving me some hope is that this crappy start we’ve had is also occurring exclusively outside the division. We have another month before we even play a “4 point game.” Tons of time for these kinks to be worked on. Also buys some time for Byfield and Doughty to heal and impact the second half of the season.

Or we’ll crater.

(The dark blue in front of their own net is good and dark red in front of the other team’s net is also good.)

So RD good (Doughty, Roy, Walker), LD bad (Anderson, Bjornfot, Edler, Maatta).
And LW good (Arvidsson, Iafallo), RW not so good (Brown, Kempe).
Whether that's completely true or not, that's one way to fit the data to my narrative.

Lot of red/dark red on the left side of the Dzone near the front of the net.
Mostly blue on the right side of the net.

Lot of red/dark red on the left side of the Ozone.
Less so on the right side.

As far as offense, they have more lefty shooters (Kopitar, Kaliyev, etc). They benefit from shooting on their off wing.

Similar principle with defense and the shooters they defend against.
