I need someone to explain to me why York is a first round pick but Jones isn’t

That is the reason Miller is so interesting and has boom potential. That's the end of a shift for him, blows by guys and helps set up that goal. Nice drop pass in the slot
There was definitely concerns that a lot of those USNDTP guys were products of an offensive powerhouse.

For reference: Zac Jones has had a great start to the season. He ranks 14th since 2000 in P/GP among defensemen in their D+1 season. That's great!

The more and more I see Jones, the more I'm seeing someone that got undervalued by the USTDP. There is no reason for him to not be getting bigger minutes in this tourney. Dude has been great for the first 5 periods.
When I saw York out for the PP, I had no clue what Jones did to not be out there. Then as soon as he is out there for York, the PP settles down and is better.
Either we struck gold on a pick or the Flyers really messed up on taking York

York acquitted himself very well in bigger situations (like the U18's), while he was a product of his environment it was hard to argue against him being at least a somewhat significant part of that environment.
Jones did well on a middling USHL team, while there could be large upside there is also a lot more uncertainty. He wasn't even the primary blueline threat on his own team.
