Sandin, Lundkvist, Fagemo, Gustafsson and Höglander PP1.
Söderström, Holtz, Pasic, Berggren and Linus Nässén PP2. I assume Raymond replaces Nässén or Pasic once up to speed. The coach also said it’s fluid so could change once the tournament starts.

De får chansen i Juniorkronornas powerplay: "Finns många alternativ"

Says they'll run it during the first game at least, and then it can change.

As for how they're run:

Sandin on blue line, Fagemo to the left, Lundkvist to the right, Höglander at the goal line, and Gustafsson in front of the net.
Söderström on blue line, Holtz to the left, Pasic, & Berggren to the right, and Nässén in front of the net.

Who do you guys think will be the 1st pair, Lundkvist or Soderstrom?

It’s really close between them. Both have benefitted offensively from being paired with a composed, veteran presence, that have allowed them to take offensive initiatives and flourish. I have a mostly unsubstantiated hunch that Söderström might be more valuable to his team (or rather, Brynäs has visibly and apparently improved since Söderström joined them, and what I’ve seen of his play has been impressive), despite Lundkvist having more ice time and scoring more points. Friends of mine that are Brynäs supporters have called him a Lidström Light for their team.

I feel like they’ll have about equal ice time in the WJCs. My guess is Söderström on the first pairing, with Lundkvist getting more offensive minutes and PP opportunities.

But oh man, it really rubs me the wrong way that Gunler hasn’t made the team, though admittedly I’m biased. He’s improved immensely throughout the season with Luleå, has worked his way up the lineup and while the goal scoring isn’t there, his instincts and playmaking abilities are obvious.

He has become a valuable player on the team, but he’s said his confidence is taking a toll when he isn’t scoring, and I think it shows. He’s doing almost everything right, but he’s become pass first and his frustration with his missed opportunities is tangible. He’s really beating himself up every time.

For his sake, I think the WJCs would be a welcome change of pace, an opportunity to take charge offensively, take steps towards his potential, and build confidence.

I also think he’s deserved the opportunity.

But I’m biased.

- Björnfot in the NHL
- Söderström in the NHL
- Broberg possibly in the NHL/AHL
- Maybe one of Holtz-Raymond in the NHL
- Fabian Lysell (03) might make the team to give them even more offense
- Eklund and Niederbach on a fourth line seems like a waste. Wouldn't be surprised if Eklund is the No1 or No 2 center
- Daniel Torgersson possible addition

Either way, team will have great goaltending (expecting big stuff from the Wall next season), good defense (although worse than this year) and better offense than this year (assuming the top guys are not in North America)

Eklund hasn't played C since around the 4th SuperElit game of the season, and has he ever played C internationally? Doubt they'd play him there. Niederbach on the other hand failed at playing wing so that forced them to play him at C to their fortunate dismay. Praise be.

I like all of these players, but I have my doubts that really any one of them will actually be a NHL regular next season. It would not surprise me one bit to see all made available for JVM next year.

I'm sure this has been discussed, but how come Jacob Olofsson isn't on the team? Is it because of the injury he sustained a week or so ago? Thanks.

Två forwards saknas – så ställer Juniorkronorna upp i kväll

Lineup tonite:

Höglander - D.Gustafsson - Fagemo
Pasic - Bäck - Berggren
Holtz - Henriksson - Nässén
Öberg - H.Gustafsson

Sandin - Söderström
Ginning - Lundkvist
Broberg - Björnfot (Hockeynews had Lundkvist at LD so we don't know who's playing RD)
Norlinder

Eliasson

Eriksson isn't feeling 100% after the trip, and Raymond isn't up to speed yet, which is why they're running 11F.
