Paraphrased from another site: Boston was willing to go higher for Taylor Hall. They had to clear cap space first. On Saturday and Sunday, Taylor Hall was hearing from Boston that "Yeah we can do this, but we need to clear up room first". Taylor Hall just wanted to know where he was going and decided on Buffalo and did not want to wait.

Signing Miller before anything else was sorted out is beyond mind blowing, especially if it caused ANY cap implications.

Definitely makes me continue to question management's judgement if true...

I mean, if he didn't want to wait another day or two, he really didn't want to be in Boston. He probably fell in love with the idea of playing with Eichel and Kruger rather than running out of patience.

Maybe. Or maybe he had both options tied in his head, and took the one that was ready. One deal is: Here is the exact offer and we have it now. The other is, here is the offer, BUT. Given Sweeney's trade tendency, could you blame him or the agent from thinking they couldn't get something done in a reasonable time?

Bruins will be signing a guy who averaged 29 G per 82 G over past 2 years

46 G in 133 games

Doing a quick look at the numbers, that seems like Dadanov over Hoffman. If I'm looking at the right numbers at least.

Or I could be looking at the wrong players completely.

Edit: Or it's re-signing Jake DeBrusk

I really like the idea of signing one of Hoffman or Dadonov and then flipping Debrusk to the Canes for one of Bean or Fleury.

Right now there's two glaring holes middle six left wing and someone to play 20+ minutes a night with McAvoy. Could probably make a case that they need another middle six wing to play with Coyle depending on how Bjork progresses.

If the Bruins had to clear cap to sign Hall, then maybe they are trying to clear cap now before they sign Hoffman or Dadonov.

BTW, I know everyone assumes 'clear cap' means DeBrusk, but I'm wondering if it actually means Rask.

Rask publicly insinuated that he'd retire if traded, so I don't think that's happening. I would think it's Moore and Ritchie, maybe Bjork.

Since part of the thread title is Kick to the Curb, I would like them to kick Wagner and Kuraly to the curb. It won't happen, but I'd like them to.

I don't think him saying he wants to retire a Bruin will scare anyone off. There's no chance he's walking away from $7 million dollars.

I'm sure they're interested in moving Moore too, but Moore by himself won't be enough to add a UFA forward and upgrade the defense. If they want to do both, they need to clear a lot of money.

Never gonna happen but I tried to make Laine and OEL fit in a somewhat realistic way. Still nice to look at imo. Laine/Pastrnak wing core to build around for the next 10 years would be very enticing.
