For what it's worth, he was a targeted player by the Rangers. They had him in the top four defenseman for the class.

Let me put it this way, if you can get a Trouba-like player at 19th overall, regardless of whether you think Trouba is overpaid or flawed, that's a real good pick.

I hope you're right but they aren't infallible. They thought Ryan Gropp was good. Lias is looking like a bust. They are far from perfect.

They aren't, but I also think they deserve more credit than this board often gives them.

In Schneider's case, if the Rangers are wrong, they won't be alone.

Fair, but it's also about the Farm. I mean we don't really have any C in the Farm.

I agree but we have a stacked farm. I can see a trade involving multiple pieces for a high end center prospects that is a lot closer. Say eichel is too complicated and time consuming but cousins may not be and can be had for say hendrickson, Anderson and jones. NYRs could easily make a package that other teams would be willing to accept without impacting their future core.
