What a great goal by Cole. It must be extra sweet for him with the way Smith was chirping him after his snipe.

First line was cooking tonight and have been playing on another level since being back. I want to see them keep this pace up till the last game, only way they have a chance to punch their ticket to the dance.

Beck is the real deal imo, 3c is a lock for him next year, he might even challenge Dach for 2c.

I wonder what's the plan with Dobes, probably will play him after the first loss.

What's our record with Heinneman in the lineup?

I looked at your goals. I can't speak to the game overall, but that Newhook goal showed the difference between Beck and Dach. Beck is fast, he'll play to the end, Dach didn't do that.

Btw, why does Laine play so little in 5v5 and hasn't even played in 5v4 yet (he doesn't have time in the stats). Is he playing that poorly? Decent game according to the stats.

Caufield - wonderful goal. 👌🏻 Celebrini was unable to react.

Laine got 2 minutes of PP time tonight. Montreal only got 2 PPs, and #1 unit switched off after one minute.

The Laine-Beck-Newhook line was the 4th line. They are below average defensively so didn't see the ice a lot in the 3rd, and none in OT (except for Newhook).

Beck's ice time gets cut big time once we start getting PP time.

Don't think Laine is fully recovered from the pre-season knee injury yet, so he's pretty slow right now.

Beck taking a hit by a 6'4" Dman and not only keeping his feet but making the play to help tie the game should be getting some love. We don't get to see Caufield's goal of his life without that Lad showing why he is a winner. Sure he got walked covering for a Dman earlier in the game but at least he found a way to fight back and help his team. There was no coming back tonight for Celebrini however.

I'll tell you my feeling. If you weren't fighting for PO, they would have played more, especially Laine. It's just that Patrik probably doesn't have ideal skating yet plus he has an inexperienced center (although the pass to Newhook was perfect and it was a pass, not a shot and Beck's work was excellent) that's why MSL doesn't give him as much to play with. Which is logical.

By the way, how did Slafkovský play?

I wonder where Dach will play when he comes back. 🤔

You'd have to ask his new team mates.. :sarcasm:

Monster game by Suzuki and the first line in general. Defense and goaltending were poor tonight but the boys came through. Gonna be watching that OT goal on repeat for a while.
I suggested Suzuki should aim to put up four points in this one.
I'm glad he didn't we would never have seen that Caufield winner.

Slafkovsky played well - he's been really good since the Four Nations break, Engaged, working hard, physical and making good plays. His play at the blue line lead to one of Suzuki's goals tonight. He's doing a lot of small things really well.

It's amazing how much better we are when we are the ones forcing turnovers at the blue line.
Unfortunately we still end up on the losing side of that proposition more than I'd like.
