If I were to make an assumption, Nils would be would be a definitive ask from the BUF delegation. Although you wonder if this draft changes things. The BUF delegation was surprised at some point.
What do you mean surprised?

I was surprised when they took Quinn over Rossi. Woof

So the 6 defenseman in the Rangers top 20 were Sanderson, Drysdale, Guhle, Schneider, Grans and O'Rourke.

I’m good. I’m going to watch some highlights after and see if I want to change my mind.
. He is nothing like Mcilrath. Mcilrath was basically just an enforcer/crease clearing d man . Was it a dumb pick? Absolutely I hated it then and now. It was done mostly for Hank. They thought he could adapt well they swung and missed. But this kid has a lot better skill and is quicker

Schneider was a kid we projected to go 15th to Toronto.

ISS had him 13th, McKenzie had him at 17, McKeen's had him at 15, Rangers had him at 12, the Board Mock also had him at 15.

I do think we need to keep that in perspective a bit.

I just watched some more highlights. I'm officially excited. To all the people who are disappointed, think about the pick this way...

When John Davidson was the Pres of the Blues -- what kind of team did they build? How big is that D corp now? Parayko, PietroAngelo...

When JD was Pres of the CBJ -- what kind of team did they build? Big boy hockey.

That is what this kid is. He's not some slow-footed kid. He played for Team Canada multiple years.

He's great at shutting down zone entries and rubbing plays out along the boards kinda like K'Andre, but he's not really being drafted as a raw talent. He's already the guy you want out there on the PK and in the final two minutes of the game.

I'd much rather take a kid like this late in the first round than a kid who is top 6 or bust when we have so much talent up front already. (I know we still need a 2C for next year. But we have plenty of depth in other positions to start figuring that out).
