This year it's Ottawa who's pissed.
Byfield
Vilardi
Turcotte
sounds pretty good to me. Reminds me of 2014 and
Kopitar
Carter
Stoll
Richards
down the middle.
plus sturm on the bench. dunno.I'm going to be honest, I'm disappointed. There's a pretty big drop from Lafreniere to #2. Byfield seems raw and Stutzle plays overseas.
Wouldn't be surprised if it's Stutzle. Anschutz owns a team in Germany and Yanetti just mentioned that they have a heavy presence (of scouts) in Germany.
Man.. I know I shouldn't complain, we jumped from 4 to 2.. Most of us thought we'd be dropping from 4 to 7, but **** we were SO close to Lafreniere. Not to mention, a PLACEHOLDER team gets #1? Cmon. That's ridiculous.
that would be hard to say no to, but i'm not sure ottawa does it. logically you're already hedged by having 2 of a good pack, but knowing melnyk, does he want to pay 2 potential superstars? If we're Ottawa would we do 3 and 5 for 2? I think Byfield and Stuzle are closer to each other then they are to Laf so maybe I'd think about trading this pick. But I don't think Ottawa would do it.

i'm trying to temper my salt with the fact that odds were significantly better of us dropping than going to #2 so i have to kinda shut up, but yeah the oilers could just as easily get a #1 here which is exactly what started all this bullshit. that's just stupid. this lottery shit is stupid period.
i think byfield is probably the easy choice and i'm not sure our management is gonna take a (potential) chance on stutzle. they seem more like the easy choice types.

If you wanna bake your noodle a little, whats the chance they refuse to report to Ottawa given the shameful state that franchise is in?that would be hard to say no to, but i'm not sure ottawa does it. logically you're already hedged by having 2 of a good pack, but knowing melnyk, does he want to pay 2 potential superstars?
