How’s this whole process with the lottery gonna work. I was looking forward to the whole reveal starting from pick 14 or whatever down, but with these phases possible taking place how will the reveal happen today?

Nobody will know if the Blackhawks will have a top three pick based on today’s results. If there’s a phase 2 of the lottery and the Blackhawks fail to qualify for the playoffs, then it’s possible.

Also, I bet as they flip team cards in reverse order, they won't say what position it is. So for us, we may stop caring ASAP if the Kings are flipped first but in reality, being flipped first may mean we're anywhere from 7th to 10th.

What we all (here) want to see is the first card flipped and it's not us. That will mean at least one team (us) from the legit bottom 7 will be in the top 3.

Exactly, it'll be whoever is 7th in the non-qualifiers group. If they start at 10, that means we're picking 7th 100%. This whole description of how they're going to unveil it is already annoying the hell out of me. I'm definitely NOT going to watch this shit and am just going to wait for a phone alert. No, if they start at 9th it means two of the play-in teams get top 3 picks, and one of the bottom 7 gets a top 3 pick. We won't know if we're that 1 team until they start turning over cards. Same with a start at 8th, except that its 1 play in and 2 bottom 7. A start at 7 means no play in and 3 bottom 7.

Really the only thing we'll know based on the start:

If they start at 10: we pick 7th.
If they start at 9: we can't pick 4th or 5th, 1-3 and 6-7 still on the table.
If they start at 8: we can't pick 4th, 1-3 and 5-7 still on the table
If they start at 7: 1-7 all still possible.
