MTL gets a guy who is going to play in the NHL. Alex was an animal for Vegas in the playoffs.

Skjei got taken in a similar spot I believe. Who was the better prospect at the time of the draft? Skjei all things considered was a good pick for us.

Skjei was good value for where he was taken. Took him 4 years to crack the NHL roster though. I see a similar trajectory for Schneider, maybe 3.5 years

Why trade for him when you can get him for free and not give a draft asset?

Whoever wanted Strome is not just going to just get him, nor get him for free. If he hits UFA they'd have to bid and probably beat other bids and they would not know if he even would consider signing with their team.

I dunno, if I had to guess, I think you might be looking at closer to 2 or 2.5.

I'd compare his trajectory a little closer to someone like Lindgren.

He'll likely play in the AHL next season, and possibly get a look as soon as 2022. This is a kid who is fairly far along on his path.

Yeah but they wouldn’t have to give up a draft pick. That’s clearly more important
