Well placeholders could technically win all top 3 spots but it would take a scientific anomaly for that to happen. The odds of even one Placeholder moving into the top 3 is still pretty low.

The first Canucks fan here to suggest they should lose in an effort to get Lafreniere should be banned for life. The Canucks have a better chance of winning the Stanley Cup without Petterson, Hughes and Markstrom than to win the draft lottery. Any reasonable Canucks fan knows that. Bring on the Playoffs! I don't think the Canucks have that choice? If they lose to Wild and then don't win the 1/8 for 1st OA, they will pick somewhere around 15th (Canucks point% will probably be one of the higher ones in case they don't make the real playoffs) and it's the 2021 1st rounder that will transfer.

That's roughly the chance that 2nd and 3rd picks have at 1st OA normally so yes.
