In terms of currently available FA RBs I'd be interested in Kenyan Drake, Tevin Coleman, Matt Breida, and Jamaal Williams. Honestly, there's not much out there but I'm sure there will be cuts.

Not advocating taking Etienne in the top 10...I've said this a half dozen times. I'm talking somewhere in the 27-32 range. That's a solid place to take him. Let's say he slips to the 2nd round and Jets have the 34th pick. So they use their first two picks on an OT and lets say a CB.

Would you be OK taking Etienne at #34? I don't see how you couldn't. Jets need and explosive skilled player like him. Yes they have tons of needs but getting a guy like Etienne could open things up for Darnold indirectly by having opposing DC's scared shitless about how to contain Etienne.

oh i see. Yes, i would grab him in Round 2. Late Round 1 is tolerable imo (yet i would not go HB in Round 1).

Jamaal Williams thank you very much. He's ready for a full time gig.

I like Drake but he's kind of fragile. Brieda and Coleman don't do it for me. Williams tho...absolutaly yes!

A Williams and Etienne tandem....sign me up as that would be sweeeeet!!

There are 10 RBs averaging over 5 ypc this year. Not a single one was drafted in the first round (Many however were taken in the 2nd in the 40s).

Of the top 10 RB in receptions this year there is Zeke and then not a single player taken before pick 67. 3 of them were undrafted. (Obviously CMC/Saquon would be in this group if they weren't hurt).
Not sure that YPC is a useful measure. The Eagles as a team average 5.1 and the Jags average 4.6. Neither team is good despite having RBs with good YPC. The Ravens lead the NFL at 5.2 because of Lamar Jackson. If the RB is also a good receiver like Saquon that's different but the Giants haven't shown they can win with him yet.

It's not a great measure but you would think among the 10 guys at least several of them would have been highly regarded at the time. It's more of an oline/team stat than an RB stat.

Jets can address WR in FA. Bring in Robinson who would be my first choice followed by a Galloway or a Ju Ju. They don't need to use either of the first round picks for a WR. Oh and Gurley....no thanks. His tank looks pretty empty from what I've seen of him and talk about injury prone....nah, easy pass on Gurley.

I dunno, you guys have almost talked me out of taking Etienne with our 1st rounder given to us by Seattle. But if he's there at 34...I'm sorry but I'm pouncing on him.
I've made the case here many times that one of the (many) reasons for the Jets ineptitude is their ignoring the WR position in the draft for decades. You can always sign a high end RB but when was the last time a guy like Julio Jones or DeAndre Hopkins hit free agency, Randy Moss? The fact that Hopkins was traded for nothing shows how much of a clown show Bill O'Brien was in Texas.

And your not wrong with your thought process. Allen Robinson tho is an elite WR maybe not Hopkins but he's a Top 10 WR in my book and the Jets should be so lucky he decided to sign with us.

Jets haven't had a WR as talented as Robinson since Brandon Marshall had that insane out of nowhere season in 2015. Robinson is better than Marshall IMO and he's still only 27....Jets need to get him bottom line!

There we go...finally someone is joining me on this island I was apparently stranded on...lol

i hated when the Giants went Barkley at #2 and would rather have have waited for Chubb who went at #35. Meanwhile, i wasn't a fan of the Pats going Michele at #31 but could have lived with it if i were a Pats fan.

Not the end all be all by any means but this is the top 15 scoring RBs for draftkings. It’s PPR so it’s a measure of who is getting volume, scoring, etc.

I see only 3 first rounders. Gordon, Jacobs, Zeke. Did I miss anyone?

Etienne at #34 would be just divine.

First things first is Joe D needs to convince the Bengalies that he's taking Sewell so that Mike Brown and company get antsy and don't want to take any chances that they lose out on the desperatly needed Sewell who will protect Burrows ass for the next decade and so they trade up with the Jets and give us their #3 overall, 2021 2nd rounder(#35), 3rd rounder(#67) and a 2022 1st rounder.

That should do the trick!

well, i would be wary of Sewell. Kid has not played for over a year and now will go against NFL linemen. After Erik Flowers i need to be fully convinced a lineman can play in the NFL. Tough to tell when the kid has not played. For me

Jets need a stud #1 wide receiver for whomever the future QB is going to be. Who is the better WR, Ja'Marr Chase or Devonta Smith?

Allen Robinson is your stud #1 WR and he'll only cost you some cash. Meantime you can concentrate on getting some solid O-lineman, edge rushers, cover corners and oh how about Etienne? lol

In all seriousness if a Chase or a Smith were available too us if we moved down in the 1st round to somewhere in the 5-10 range well than yeah I'd consider one of those guys in that area. But if we stood pat, no way am I taking a WR with the 2nd overall.

If the Jets don't get Lawrence, you would have to blow Robinson away money wise from actual good teams. He's seen his career wasted with awful QB play in Chicago, I don't see him coming here to play with Sam Darnold or a non-Lawrence rookie.

good news for the Jets however, i may have mentioned it before, due to the pandemic the cap is going to drop next offseason which will chew up a lot of cap space of the league wide while the Jets will still have a lot of room.

Zach Wilson putting on a clinic. Gotta be the pick if the Jets stay 2nd

or performances like this entice teams to try to trade up with the Jets.

Zach looked awesome. At least the Jets appear to have a choice in addition to Fields.

PFF released their first mock this morning. They’re really really high on Wilson. They graded his season as the 2nd best by a QB in the past 5 years, only behind Burrow last season.

1. Lawrence - Jags
2. Wilson - Jets
3. Sewell - Bengals
4. Fields - Panthers

10. Greg Rossueau (Miami DE) to the Giants

At 26, Jets take PSU edge Jayson Oweh. Don’t like this pick cause he’s another “freak of an athlete but hasn’t produced” pick. But the bottom of the 1st is so fluid now I’m not gonna even bother dissecting it.

Love what they do over at PFF and it has been very helpful in evaluating non skill position players for me over the past few years, but I just don't see Douglass pulling the trigger at #2 for Wilson or any of the QB's.

I'm 50/50 as to whether Joe D stays at 2 and takes Sewell or he trades down with teams that likely crave Sewell like a Cincy or San Diego(not a misprint...they'll always be San Diego to me) or maybe even Jerry World and picks up some more draft capital.

Heck I think there is a better chance Douglass brings in Wentz than he does drafting a QB that is not named Trevor Lawrence in the 1st round.

If Jets move down...let's say with the Bengals who are desperate for a LT like Sewell and Douglass gets even more draft capital than he already has which is a ton, I'd have even less hesitation to still take a shot with Etienne...I don't care what anyone says....

I would take Sewell unless Cincy wants to vastly overpay and I get their 1 next year.

I’m not confident in the QB’s who could be going going at 2. Give me the perennial pro bowl tackle which is never a bad pick. If they want to pay then I’ll drop down once, maybe even a 2nd time but I wouldn’t drop below 10. They could theoretically drop twice and still secure a top WR or CB.

Too funny....I drafted David Wilson in my fantasy draft that season. Needless to say I wasn't happy with my pick.

I’d have no issue taking him in the 2nd round, but I wouldn’t touch him in the 1st. The Jets simply have too many holes to be afforded the luxury of taking a RB that high. They could be making the same mistake as the Giants with Barkley. They are unlikely to compete in the next 2-3 years anyway then you have to start deciding if you want to invest heavily in a RB whose taken a lot of mileage.

Id rather invest in a WR or the TE Pitts from Florida if he’s around in the back half of the 1st if I’m looking at offense.

If they take a QB at 2 then they have to be right. They can’t afford to strike out again and put the team back another 4-5 years. I’d take Wilson over Fields, but I wouldn’t be crazy about that pick.
