WJC: 2020 Canada Roster Talk

They announced they'd be making 9 cuts until Hayton news came out maybe its 10 now.
As per Bob McKenzie twitter
Hollaway released 2020 eligible
Schneider released 2020 eligible
Krebs released
Newhook released
Zary released 2020 eligible
Deliberatoire released
Harley released
Perfetti released 2020 eligible
Hunter Jones released
one more forward to be released later.

So far surprises to me are Hollaway and Newhook
per McKenzie: Looks like the remaining 7 D are Addison, Bahl, Bernard-Docker, Byram, Drysdale, McIsaac, Smith. As long as Noah Dobson is not loaned by NYI, that should be the seven-man D corps.
The three goalies on the roster are Daws, Hofer and Rodrigue.

2 more forwads, 1 more D and a goalie to be cut

Edit: Harley is the D then I guess. I think that's a mistake. Figured Addison, or Drysdale wasn't going to make it. Guess they want natural righties.

So far I think the guy most people here tabbed as the starter in Rodrigue has been the worst. I've liked the horse I bet on in Hofer, but I also have really liked Daws.
 
That Harley cut is surprising. First cut for team Canada that's kind of taken me off guard they must really be into handedness on that bench.

Canada might have a goaltending issue. Personally, I don’t see Rodrigue as the answer. Will need strong offence to carry the load and good team D to make the gold medal game.

I'm pretty surprised that Drysdale made it, but I'm not against it. I didn't like Addison's camp performance at all though. Worse defenceman there defensively and not enough offence to compensate. Hope he has a good tournament.

No more cuts tonight. 1 more forward to be cut as of now. It will come later

To be fair, Lafreniere isn’t completely healthy at this camp either... and we ain’t cutting him. This just means the coaching staff are confident that they already know what they’re getting with Dudas, even if we don’t. Only time will tell if that’s the right decision.

Lafreniere might be our best player. Top 3 at least, and a returnee. Someone like Dudas shouldn't get that same lock if you're injured kind of treatment IMO.
