yeah, good news. but it probably means Hockey Canada will cut Byfield. and that will be disappointing. but we shall see.

Well, it’s gotten better in the third, and in good news this really isn’t anything out of the ordinary.I don't know the last time I saw a team not named the Detroit Red Wings play such a sloppy game
What’s your forward lineup then?Neither Foudy nor Dellandrea should be on this team
Laf-Hayton-LavoieWhat’s your forward lineup then?
Edit: and that perfect faceoff win is why Dellandrea will be at least fourth line centre. His skill on them cannot be understated.
Right off the bat, Dellandrea is a pretty much across the board upgrade on Groulx, and similarly so for Foudy and Dudas.Laf-Hayton-Lavoie
Byfield-Velano-Cozens
Foote-McMichael-Newhook
Dudas-Groulx-Krebs
Mercer
After what Ive seen and have been sensing, I suspect we ll see the roster trimmed down this way:
F:
Quinton Byfield-Sudbury OHL
Dylan Cozens-Lethbridge WHL
Ty Dellandrea-Flint OHL
Nolan Foote-Kelowna WHL
Barrett Hayton-Arizona NHL
Dylan Holloway-Wisconsin NCAA
Alexis Lafreniere-Rimouski QMJHL
Raphael Lavoie-Halifax QMJHL
Connor McMichael-London OHL
Dawson Mercer-Drummondville QMJHL
Akil Thomas-Niagara OHL
Joe Veleno-Grand Rapids AHL
Connor Zary-Kamloops WHL
D:
Kevin Bahl-Ottawa OHL
Jacob Bernard-Docker-North Dakota NCAA
Bowen Byram-Vancouver WHL
Thomas Harley-Mississauga OHL
Jared McIsaac-Halifax QMJHL
Braden Schneider-Brandon WHL
Ty Smith-Spokane WHL
G:
Nico Daws-Guelph OHL
Joel Hofer-Portland WHL
Olivier Rodrigue-Moncton QMJHL
Cuts:
Calen Addison-Lethbridge WHL
Peter Dililberatore-Quinnipac NCAA
Jamie Drysdale-Erie OHL
Liam Foudy-London OHL
Bo Groulx-Halifax QMJHL
Hunter Jones-Peterborough OHL
Peyton Krebs-Winnipeg WHL
Alex Newhook-Boston College NCAA
Cole Perfetti-Saginaw OHL
Lafreniere - Veleno - Thomas
McMichael - Hayton - Dellandrea?
Byfield - Cozens - Foote
Newhook - Groulx - Dudas
Foudy
although I don’t agree with Dudas and Foudy making it. What has Dudas done to be a lock?
That’s so elite.
Have you seen Hockey Canada over the years? Maybe the Hunters will lead to changes (the invited way more first-time draft eligibles than usual), but the list of talented 17-year-olds who've been cut or not even invited over the years is quite long. They cut JT at 16 when he was scoring over a goal a game, they cut Seguin in 2010, they didn't invite Marner or D. Strome to camp, they cut Monahan his draft year, etc. There are a bunch of examples throughout the years along these lines. They are overly loyal to their program of excellence kids who are 19, oftentimes to a fault. Why are those two things related? Byfield can play any forward position and is better than every OHL player on the camp team aside from maybe McMichael.
Also, I seriously doubt Hayton starts with Lafreniere. TC will be banking on the Laf-Veleno chemistry we saw in the summer. Likely Thomas in the right wing if Dach isn’t released.

Totally agree.I would cut Lavoie and Krebs for starters
He's played for a truly terrible WHL franchise. I don't think it is fair to judge him primarily on that.Totally agree.
Lavoie's shot is his only redeeming quality, which TC might want to keep on PP as the trigger man. I think he lacks compete.
Krebs I haven't seen play much, but am not overly impressed with his +/- from the past few years. You have better offensive options for your top 6.
Now Dobson and we’re golden...likely literally.
