Byfield looked great. Next year they should bring up Kaliyev and try to get a pure goal scorer like Laine. Give Clague a shot the rest of this season to figure it out and sign a good dman over the offseason.
If they can have a deep backend with the third defense pairing being mikey anderson and matt roy that would be ideal.

Honestly, Moore emerging as a potential up and down the lineup forward has been the biggest positive for me this season. I totally agree that he is the perfect guy to put with QB for his first taste. Works hard all over the ice and is consistent.

Moore is to Byfield what Iafallo is to Kopitar.

In the end, it was exciting. I really love his skating and vision. You can clearly see that he has the hockey sense to be great. At least there is something to look forward to seeing the rest of the season...

Yep, there was just sort of a buzz about it. Even down to them mentioning guys just watching him at practice. He looks absolutely special.

Agree completely. He just looks the part, you can just tell he has a lot of talent. Doughty and Kopitar were the same way, you could tell right away even as teenagers.

Yeah, the really elite players just have 'it'. The game just happens around them all the time. Quinton caused that all night. Gravity of the play just kept coming his way.

Starting to feel that if Turcotte becomes a more skilled version of Moore, we will have a really good player.

I only really blame the tweeners goal on Cal. The other two were right down the middle unchallenged.

Fowlers was stoppable, right under his arm. He look like he wasn't ready for it. To me, that's a bad goal. Goal two, well, lets just say a certain dman doesn't know how to get in the lane or block a shot...

Gibson sucks and they never challenged him more that a few times after the 2-0 goal. Half the 3rd they didn't get a shot on goal, including 2 pp's. WTF is wrong with this team?

Byfield's playmaking skills were on display tonight and his teammates were not ready for it. Hopefully they are in the next game. And yes, call up Clague and sit 6 and 56 please.

My fear is that Seattle takes Clague and he becomes Shea Theodore for them, as how Anaheim lost Theodore to Vegas.
Clague had a few outstanding games and really no duds, whilst getting few real chances.
I think 2 games in a row, he was catalyst in 3 goals. A shame, if he is lost in expansion. He paid his dues
and has looked as well as possibly could have been expected. Most all of his pinches and activating into the ozone
were very well timed and executed...many, leading to chances. And, he was not bad in the d zone and not a wilting flower.

He should get some more games and a real chance to show what he has.

Haha, TMac not so subtley calling out Kopitar. Kopitar was bad tonight, there no other way to put it. Did he even have a shot on goal or was it his usually passing night?

At least we don’t have to wonder who’s gonna worry about those poor multi-millionaires.

You get so offended and immediately make it a class warfare issue, no one is saying millionaires will be broke. I'm simply stating a fact as to one of the reasons the Kings have struggled to attract FA's.

He'd be taking home less than 50% of his salary if he signs with the Kings and a lot more if he signed with most other US based teams.

At this point Im not sure Walker would be taken if he was exposed. Id try to keep Clague.

Oh god. He might not be a millionaire by that point.

Do you not think that tax rate affects the amount that players sign for? I understand the jock tax smooths it a bit, but there is definitely a benefit for teams in states with lower taxes. I don't think he is arguing whether a higher tax burden is beneficial, you are kind of missing the mark here.

I think you misunderstood. He might be taxed so heavily that he isn’t bringing home millions.
