I wish for the love of God that Macd could be a decent defenseman because he's probably top 3 fighter in the NHL. But the guy is just terrible at defense that I can't justify having him there.
Place holder,right

I see a bunch of players who don’t care anymore. They’ve gone through Terry Murray, Darryl Sutter, John Stevens, Willie Desjardins, and now Todd McLellan.

The supposed leaders and veterans are going to continue going through the motions, and there’s no bigger slacker out there than #8.

There’s also no way a team that ices a player like MacDermid as a regular on their blueline goes anywhere near the playoffs.

Honestly at this point wtf is the point of having Kopitar around? He’s a depreciating asset at this point. Carter if someone wants him deal him. Brown can stay if he wants, same with Quick. Give me some f***ing vets who care!

The Kings are this bad with Kopitar in the lineup. There's no reason to keep him considering his play and our amount of centers. If someone called me offering me a top 2-4 dman on a good contract and relatively young for Kopitar at 30% retention id easily do it.

Which is why this isn't only a team problem. Maclellan inherited a bad team but he hasn't made this bad roster look any better or structured since he's been here. The issue is deeper than the skaters themselves. The Kings aren't "failing" to execute a plan. It seems the Kings don't play with any system. No structure.
see i disagree about that, there's a clear structure, i just see a failure to adhere to structure outside of maybe the PP breakout which is another conversation entirely

guys are drifting, puck watching, not communicating, all the while being lazier than i've ever seen

Not getting the wins but the Sens are playing well. Seeing alot of growth in their kids. They play physical and gritty. I'll take Norris and Batherson over any Kings roster player right now.

I've seen Tkachuk start shit at least twice now at the end of losing games. This team has nobody like that: vet or otherwise.

There is a lack of desire from the vets and the youth just follows their lead. It's potentially poisonous to the rebuild.

Night in and night out this team looks unprepared to start the game and there is no argument to be made that TMac is icing his best lineup. There are a lot of things wrong with this team that's out of his control, but he sure isn't helping things
I won't be expecting many wins with this line up for a lot weeks...maybe if the Kings could play Ottawa or Detroit

Structure doesn’t matter if they don’t move their feet. Moore, Grundstrom, JAD are skating, everyone else is floating.

Then what are the Kings doing holding on to aging assets who have no drive yearly?

Yo Montreal, Colorado, get in on this!

And still 2+ months 'til the Trade Deadline for LA's Dead-weight

Also, not to put you on the spot. What is the system? They look so damn confused all the time.

You're not getting that for Kopitar in 2021. The last time you might've gotten something like that was 2014.

It is what it is. Can't moan and groan when 1 third of our D-Corp is out. We have McDerp, Maata, Strand and Mr. Turnover himself playing. Can't win with trash in the backend. Had a lot of hope for Vilardi but he seems to be going backwards not forwards. Exactly what I expected not even mad. TM is the only one I'm pretty upset about. Miss use of a lot of players.

That's an aspect of it. Im talking about the positioning, the breakdowns, the turnovers. The lack of visible structure. When the Kings were sucking with Terry Murray it was obvious there was a structure they were sticking to. They just weren't winning because they had no high end talent. I'm watching this team and I can't see any structure no matter how hard I look.

Kopitars contract ends in 2024. Only three years from now which isn't too long for any team looking for a top 6 center to make a cup run.
