That's what bugs me most

If they were selling out for a hard forecheck, great! But no one is even touching an opposing dman.

If they were selling out in the neutral zone to clog it up, great! But guys barely have to change direction to ski right through.

If they were selling out at the line to prevent entries, great! But opposing players gain the zone without much effort.

All of that and they can't defend OR get the puck out.

Also, not to put you on the spot. What is the system? They look so damn confused all the time.

i mean i'm not seeing much different from previous years aside from the defensemen pinching like crazy, they're always looking to spring that odd man rush on the breakout with the puck on the center's stick (unfortunately we can't make that pass), the trap is the trap..

it's just like, that couture goal, mac rotates high which he probably didn't need to, but all the forwards just lazily skate a circle around the zone staring at the puck. that's why clague threw his hands up cause literally no one was supporting low, they're all just going for a skate up high. that would make sense if the puck was on a kings stick but they're looking to spring the zone without the puck.. it's just lazy. no one's got their head on a swivel, they just "have their man" by being within a stick length of him

The vets seem to have no interest in showing the young guys the right way and I hope Blake has the balls to trade away as many of them as possible.

That's an aspect of it. Im talking about the positioning, the breakdowns, the turnovers. The lack of visible structure. When the Kings were sucking with Terry Murray it was obvious there was a structure they were sticking to. They just weren't winning because they had no high end talent. I'm watching this team and I can't see any structure no matter how hard I look.

Yeah but you can’t divorce that from skating. You can get into any kind of system by coasting into position at this level.
