LA Kings GM Rob Blake has made it clear he wants a young, dynamic, left defenseman. Rasmus Dahlin is the guy they are looking for.
Do it. We could jumpstart Buffalo's re-rebuild and get our future #1D. It would take Byfield + or Turcotte + Kaliyev ++, where the + is likely out unprotected 1st this year at least. As much as that would hurt I believe it would be worth it given our prospect pool's forward depth.
Dahlin has had a rough year in Buffalo, but playing here with Yawney and Doughty/Roy to insulate him he'd blossom. Not to mention the fact that our #1C is a perennial Selke candidate.

If we can get Dahlin for Kaliyev + 1st + lesser pieces, I'm game. Being able to keep Turcotte, Byfield, and Vilardi would be insane. Something like Kaliyev, Clague, Wagner, and 2021 1st would be very pleasing to me, but I doughty Buffalo is interested in moving him.
Turcotte - Kopitar - Fagemo
Kempe - Byfield - Vilardi
Iafallo - Kupari - Thomas
Grundstrom - Anderson-Dolan - Moore
Dahlin - Doughty
Bjornfot - Roy
Anderson - Walker

Is that what you call it? I feel like BUF has been rebuilding for 10 years -- how does trading away a blue-chip defenseman, younger than 23, make any sense when a team is currently in rebuild mode?
Oh for sure, as I said I don't think you're wrong that ti would take that. I just think it's way too much for one guy when we don't even know what we have in these kids.Fair enough. I'm just putting myself in our shoes years ago with a young Drew Doughty. That's what I'd be asking from another team.
That is a terrible offer for Dahlin. It would start with Byfield but even then I don't see why they do it. They finally have a defenseman capable of being a #1...why trade him?
It's clear that Dahlin's performance is being weighed down heavily by Buffalo. His value is dropping. How much do you think teams were willing to pay for him before covid compared to today? Probably more. It's been reported that Buffalo is "wide open" and that no one is off the table. Is that what you call it? Dennis Bernstein from The Fourth Period and Kings of the Podcast stated he thinks it would take a package that includes Turcotte, Rasmus Kupari, and a first-round pick or multiple second-round picks.
