We knew what we had. That's why we got good value for him.I still think the Kings should have brought Kyle Clifford back. You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone, as they say.
I don't think anyone is doubting we got a good return. I think its more we didn't try to resign him knowing we would be without toughness he would bringWe knew what we had. That's why we got good value for him.

So who do you let go of on the left side then?I don't think anyone is doubting we got a good return. I think its more we didn't try to resign him knowing we would be without toughness he would bring
Did Anderson finish the game last night or is he dead again?
Wagner and AA both have an edge and can scrap if needed. But it’s obvious in two games this year vs Minny when MacD isn’t playing Foligno, Greenway, Fiala, and Dumba run around.
Wagner or luff Clifford can play right side if he has to.So who do you let go of on the left side then?
Why would we play Clifford on the right when we got right wingers to play there? What does he actually bring that requires us to sacrifice another younger player? We're not short on veterans. I don't get this boner people have for Clifford. He wasn't even a good fighter and only got concussions.Wagner or luff Clifford can play right side if he has to.
He would stand up for his teammates none of the current kings kids will do that. Point is it takes more than one guy. In the golden years Clifford was supported by Greene, Regher, Mitchell, Richards... Even guys like Williams, King, and Martinez would get in people’s faces. He would stand up for his teammates none of the current kings kids will do that. We are getting pushed around and cheap shoted
Just looking at the roster--
For the forwards: Kempe will, Wagner will. Vilardi wasn't shy before, too, and think he'll grow into it a bit. Grundstrom, Lizotte, Moore, JAD will stick their nose in there but they won't do more than that. The rest? lol.
For the D: MacD will. I think Roy would, but he's been kind of a kittycat since the injury. Walker would, but obviously same right now.
A lot of the kids might as they grow into it, as we've seen Anderson, Bjornfot, et. al. get chippier at other levels.
So yeah team toughness has to be a major concern. Turcotte will end his own career helping a teammate imo. But Byfield is too cautious. And all of the other kids are lighter, skilled players that won't. So gotta keep one eye on the present AND the future with regards to that.
And I'm not even asking guys to drop the gloves every game. Just at least get your mitts on a dude when he plows Roy. Yank Foligno out of the pile. Clear the f***ing crease. Up the emotional engagement.
They need a leader to support and we have none imo. Its time fans make up there mind on what kinda team they want imo. A super skilled team ( which we have been drafting with the best player available directive) or a character team with tough to play against less skilled players. It takes one to start standing up and others will follow imo. I just find it ironic all the cries for physical response are coming from the ones who didnt want anything to do with them types when they were here. Its a huge case of the grass isn't greener on this side of the fencePoint is it takes more than one guy. In the golden years Clifford was supported by Greene, Regher, Mitchell, Richards... edit: forgot Fraser
Disagree on Brown. We've called the team soft for years now. Clifford never changed that. It was his time to go, and not look back. Same with everyone from the Cup teams that could be moved. Put MacD in if things are a problem. Go sign another fighter. Whatever, just don't bring guys back.
After next year, even if Brown and Carter each get 50 goals in 21-22, they should not be brought back.
They need both and we should be glad they drafted skill guys that they can build around with toughness and grit. Clifford didnt stop anyone from doing anything the last couple years. When you watched the st louis games did you say to yourself wow clifford will take someones head off if they run kyrou. I didnt. I didnt notice him much to be honest. Probably why toronto let him go after giving up assets for him also. They need a leader to support and we have none imo. Its time fans make up there mind on what kinda team they want imo. For example, in 2008-09 (Dougthy's first season) the Kings had the following on the roster:This team needs a couple Sean O’Donnell types to show the kids how to go to bat for one another. I wouldn’t have hated bringing Clifford back, but it’s gotta be more than one guy.
