So for those who don't remember--this is actually Grosenick returning. Not that I blame you, I'm not even sure he has a Kings sweater, lol. But we tried to waive him, and the Oilers claimed. he then entered the 14 day quarantine for canada. And now he's been waived again and we're claiming him back. But since its' us, we can send him straight thru with no waivers this time. poor guy hasn't played a game yet this year

Yeah, but he has been earning $7K per day driving between Canada and the US as he technically never cleared waivers and has been active-roster.

Bummer for the return trip where he only gets $3.5K per day.

But come tax time, man can he ever deduct some mileage expenses...

;)

Really wish we would've hung on to Forbort instead of MacD.

Weird waver claim too, at least it wasn't D'Angelo.

Well, to retain Forbort it would have cost several million. He certainly wasn't going to take a pay cut. He was terrible here and played poorlyin Calgary so they let him walk. I don't think there was any way he was re-signing as a UFA with the Kings, that ship has sailed.

He just didn't fit here, but he's actually playing well in Winnipeg, so good on him. It's a good situation where he can earn a lot more on his next contract.

A healthy DF did fit here. In 2017-18 the Kings had the leagues best D and PK, both with Forbort on the top pair. That devastating hit he took in the Vegas series wrecked his back. Apparently the long layoff last year made a huge difference. Still, I don't blame the Kings for not re-signing him. GM's have to make those calls all the time. Good for Winnipeg.

Forbort is a lesser example of how Mitchell’s injury worked out in our favour when we signed him.

He fit here for a few months. He sucked after that and was an anchor because he could only play with Doughty and was terrible with everyone else. I'm glad he's doing well now but good riddance.

Agree that it was probably his time to move on, though a depth LHD looks like a good idea now. Would certainly rather have boring ass Forbort instead of adventure seeking Maatta

I agree with Forbort, however I don't think anyone was dealing for MacD.

The waiver makes sense as LA can re-assign him straight to the AHL/Taxi without needing waivers.

Lizotte and AA22 should hopefully be back in the lineup later this week. That should bump Wagner and Amadio out of the game roster. The next two games are JADs opportunity to take the 4C spot. His goal against Vegas was very timely, which goes a long way to earning ice time on a rebuilding team.

It looks like this years Kings are going to be a streaky team, so they’re due for some wins. It would be nice if the result of losing turns into prospects taking jobs from tweeners.

I think JAD could make a case for a third line center role this year.

Pens fan here. And I actually came here before I saw that article that @Chazz Reinhold posted about LA having the best prospects pool.

Someone on our board suggested that it's time to find and start grooming a top 6 center to replace Sid and Geno. And I'm sure plenty others were thinking it. While I'm sure Byfield is untouchable, what would the Kings be looking for in a trade to acquire him?

Slightly more realistically, what about for Alex Turcotte?

I'm sure the Pens don't have what you'd be interested in, but I'm curious. With a new Pens GM looming, there's probably not many untouchables on Pittsburgh's roster.

Also, looking like the Pens need a veteran goalie...
