Yeah really zero need to bring up Voynov any further.

I understand why we're making the comparison but this is spiraling into rehashing his incident rather than how it relates or doesn't to ADA. That's why I was attempting to redirect to his on-ice/locker room behavior instead of equivalencies to other players' off-ice incidents, particularly one so close to home.

On Watson
"After the witness saw the couple fighting and flagged down a passing officer, the victim initially denied Watson had touched her. Later in the interview, she said Watson was responsible for causing scratches on her chest. The report also includes descriptions of other wounds the victim suffered: her left shin was bruised and bloody. The report does not say if Watson was responsible for her injuries."

I am curious how these are similar incidents that should have been handled similarly?

Because they are both domestic violence incidents. I'm not excusing Voynov's behavior or making light of what he did, but his arrest was in 2014 and he was "suspended indefinitely" until this past year, which has effectively turned into a lifetime ban. The NHL should have taken decisive action from the get go and instead they were hands off for years. A decisive punishment, an emergency fund for victims of domestic abuse in the league, and attempted rehabilitation for Voynov (and future offenders) would have been a much better response in my opinion. But at this point, rehashing all this Voynov stuff is a waste of time.

The Kings were playing well, some might say above expectations, prior to the injuries to Roy and Walker. The injuries have exposed the lack of NHL ready depth at the defensive position across the organization.

Clague and Anderson are rookies and will in time develop into regular NHL dman, although most likely 4-6th dmen. Maatta is yet to find his game and adapt to the system. MacD is in above his head and is a fringe 6th/7th NHL dman at best. Alt is a career AHLer and Strand is young and still developing.

Outside of Doughty, there is not one player mentioned above that at this point in their career that is able to replace the play of Roy and Walker. The Kings will struggle until one of both of those players return, due to their lack of depth of NHL ready dmen. Roy is coming back relatively soon, Walker will be out long term.

Does Blake trade or sign a free agent to fill the holes on the back end, it is a possibility

I thought that last night too but I don't see any way we make a trade to patch things for what, a week or two?

If the top 4 is Doughty-Anderson-Roy-Clague, we're ok. It's getting MacD on the 2nd pairing and an absolute n0-chemistry shitshow onto the 3rd pairing that makes 1/2 the game completely out of control. We'll miss Walker, but so long as he's #5, his minutes are somewhat replaceable.

There's not a UFA out there worth the trouble. Keep the trade assets. Wear Strand out if need be.

Really wish we would've hung on to Forbort instead of MacD.

Weird waver claim too, at least it wasn't D'Angelo.
