So I hate to be that guy, but isn't it starting to get a little more concerning that Turcotte is out with another injury. I saw on LAKI that he's listed as week-to-week.

He got hurt in the gold medal game. There was a play along the boards where it looked like he turned an ankle or something and took a while getting back to the bench. he finished the game but that is more than likely the injury he's dealing with now.

Its unfortunate that he's injured, but if you're asking whether people are worried that he might be injury prone then no, im not concerned. I stopped worrying about players being injury prone after Justin Williams missed only 3 games in his last 8 seasons despite being plagued with injuries the first half of his career.

We know it was from the gold medal game. The question was more rhetorical. I know some people will be and some won't, and for every Justin Williams there's a Marian Gaborik. He plays a very fearless style and I think he will be a big part of LA's future. I just hope he can be around for a long time.

He was a pretty good nuke too though. Absolutely blew a few dudes up, was always in the thick of things pissing people off, and no one could/would do anything about it. Remember him ripping some helmets off, yanking crombeen's jersey off the faceoff throwing him out of the play, etc.
Good times. He wasn't completely useless, but he wasn't really a top sixer either at that point in his career. It worked though, so can't complain too much.

You were already that guy. You are alotted only one that guy per quarter, please check the TOS(HFBoards - NHL Message Board and Forum for National Hockey League)

None of them are repetitive injuries, though. And some are illnesses. It's not like he keeps shredding his knees. I think that's where the JDub comparison comes in.

It's fair to rhetorically question and of course Turcotte is a crash test dummy so I agree that one of the questions is his longevity, like Richards.

Penultimate Camp Day! Vilardi returns, Luff's growth, NHL COVID numbers - LA Kings Insider

Matt Luff's production during camp has been noticeably different, and from the point of view of his head coach, the Oakville, ONT native is far ahead of where he was a season ago.

“If you compare the two camps, it’s not even close,” McLellan said. “This year, he was noticeable, he had an impact on every scrimmage. It’s not always about scoring goals, but he did a lot of hard work to create for others, grasp the systems. I think it’s night and day from where he was last year at this point until now. With him, he’s got to maintain the momentum he’s created throughout training camp and put it into play during the regular season.”

He agreed with McLellan that this has been his best camp to date, also using the phrase “night and day” compared to a season ago. He feels he has more confidence on the ice at this season’s camp, which has allowed him to showcase his game during camp.

Surprised Kings didn't pick up a D on waiver wire with MacD and Walker out.

Alt and Clague? Jesus. Alt is an AHL'er...

And what are they getting on the waiver wire?

MacD and Walker will be back at some point soon. Alt is a fine warm body.

LW depth was pretty garbage for a lot of years. It wasn't surprising both King and Clifford ended up in the top 6 when they shouldn't have been.

It's even worse when the coach at the time plays favorites and demote the captain because "reasons" ? King had no business being in the top 6 at all.

MacDermid and Walker will be back at practice on Friday. Unless a real diamond in the rough was available, did we really really need to pick up another contract for 1 game?

Not to mention, in such a strange year, I hope we play a lot better as a whole... but still end up with a top five pick.

I have to be honest, I was ready to groan at the title, but even if there's no goosebumps, it's a meaningful gesture when they could have easily raked in more cash with a normal sponsor.

"...the Kings’ home and away helmets this season will feature the logo of the California HOPE Crisis Counseling Program, a mental health and wellness initiative funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and run by the California Department of Health Care Services."
