I have a uselessly inane question, that I don't want to clutter the board with a new thread for.

I like to track jersey numbers, because apparently I have OCD, and I snore. That's what my girlfriend tells me.

I'm assuming the Kings have never assigned numbers to European players that have never come over:

Dergachyov
Shafigullin
Parik
Chromiak
Grans
Jamsen
Markkanen
Simontovial

Especially given the rushed and incomplete draft/offseason where there wasn't even a development camp.

So that also goes for college/USHL players:

Faber
Laferriere
Meehan

Which I think only leaves Turcotte as a player that should have a number, but I don't know what it is. What's he wearing? 27?

Wagner is 27. Turcotte has been assigned #39.

Is he retiring?

Trevor freaking Lewis man, if only he had hands!
Last I heard he had signed a PTO with Winnipeg.

Edit: I can’t see anything official but the Jets board seem to think he makes the opening night roster...

I mean he's had a long career in LA. 13 years or so. If you look at hockey-reference in the Kings section, he's #10 on all-time games played in a Kings uniform. Somehow, he's managed to stick around for that long. Big kudos for that.
If there's such a thing as a "perfect bottom six player," Trevor is exactly that. Always reliable and until only very recently, always high energy and one of the fastest guys out there. Hands of stone, but he did so much right.

He wore 15 in the WJC and at Wisconsin, not sure if anyone is currently wearing 15 but perhaps 15 is his calling. But Turcotte to me is perfect for number 19 unfortunately Iafallo is wearing that number.

I find it endlessly fascinating, hilarious and infuriating that the Kings struggled for 45 years and when they finally win the Cup not once, but TWICE.... some fans still find time in their day to malign Dwight King, Trevor Lewis and Matt Greene.

TWICE.

TWIIIIIIIIIIICE.

Trevor Lewis gets far too much hate from Kings fans. Its hard to ever quantify a “clutch” stat, but the guy was absolute money through our two Cup runs and the year inbetween. He was perfect for what we needed in every sense.

I guess there were expectations of him being a top 6 scorer, but its often overlooked that much of what Dean drafted was in line with what Lewis grew into - a lunch pail guy who could be placed anywhere and do his job.

Maybe I just have a soft spot for him but he certainly will be one of my favourite Kings, if for nothing, because he knew his role, did everything that was asked of him, and never tried to be anything he wasnt!

Best of luck 22, you will be missed by this Kings fan

Surprised you would feel those emotions. These are internet boards where 90% of the people have never played the game and don't understand you don't win championships with all star teams. Everyone has a role and each role is vitally important.

People get fixated on draft position with players like Lewis. It's going to be hell for Byfield on Kings message boards unless he's the next great one.

17th overall is a bit different than 100th. Lewis was a good pick, because he's ended up as one of the few from the 06 draft that had any impact. There aren't many players you can make an argument for that they should've taken instead. There are some though.

If Byfield becomes a lower tier 2C, that's going to be an issue. 2nd overall is also different from 17th. Even if the Kings manage to win the Cup with him scoring 40 points.

I think many forget how well Dwight K and Lewis did in the 2012 run , especially D King against Phoenix

Did Byfield not make the team? he’s listed as a “non-roster forward” on cap friendly
