Is any other fan base any different though?

I don't think this behavior is exclusive to LA Kings fans, like post game bacon wrapped Mexican street hotdogs cooked in shopping carts over charcoal are

You raise a interesting question I don't read every post in every forum so to be honest I have no idea. However based on what I have read we have a above average number of doom and gloom types Now I think there is reason to this (years of disappointment with bad team draft picks etc) even in our cap years there were people finding things to crap on

This is fair.

I was disappointed when it didn't work out, and knew people would come out to criticize him when it was announced otherwise.

I don't ask Hoven who his sources are. For one, I don't need to know. For another, because it's important for the sources to have anonymity.

I don't believe he would have posted it without reasonable expectation that something was happening. Because as you see, credibility takes a hit. Sometimes, though, things don't pan out.

That said, I still hope you and others continue to follow. We do work very hard in all our content to keep it up to date, free, informative, and entertaining.

Absolutely, its not an indictment of the content, just the weight given to the reliability. And that is always the readers responsibility - the content provider only needs to decide what kind of credibility they are after. Rumor sites have to know that their bar is low.

The Mayor and DB provide the best coverage of the Kings out there. Best podcast, website, interviews, rumors, prospect coverage and wider nhl / hockey news. No one else comes close, especially since Jon Rosen was let go.

Now that the election has been called, sure would be great if the NHL would announce the plans for the 2021 season.

This guy in Toronto even knows which Kings jersey to wear. Should have gone with the home Forum Blue though.
"I agree, it was sweet seeing those classic greys in the video, looking forward to our grey on grey on grey 3rd jersey this year!" --Luc
From an outsider...I’d like to see a combo of eras for an alternate Jersey.

The Kings classic crown from the ‘70s combined with the ‘90s era colors, and jersey style associated with Gretzky.

No thanks on the Gretzky idea. Hockey existed in LA before Gretzky arrived, and cups were won well after he left.

The chevy logo is not a crown. Therefore, it sucks.

I was a big fan of this one when this concept came out. Sleek.

I've never liked that 70s crown design - to frilly and rococo-looking. I wasn't really wild about the 90's sparse redesign either. Maybe a third version would be the charm?

I am reading Brian Burke's new book Burke's Law about his life in hockey. I'm over halfway through, he just got fired in Vancouver. Very interesting background stories, esp about the trade(s) for the Sedins, the Brashear-McSorley & Bertuzzi-Moore incidents, and his time in the NHL offices under Bettman. It can be a little slow going at first until he gets to playing college hockey, but after that it is entertaining and informative. His tenure with Ducks and Leafs to come... Highly recommended.

P.S. He wouldn't name the two players who did some damage in their USA Olympic team dorm (I heard Chelios and Hull), which was weird because he names all the way through. He also insists the incident was exaggerated and blown out of proportion.

I think it was Roenick in Japan. I think he spoke on it in his interview on Spittin Chiclets. He said the Japanese media overblew the whole thing as it was like a broken chair and minimal damage and not how it was made out to sound.

Thank you, Matt. Yes in Nagano. The book said it was two players who got drunk and did some damage. "A few broken chairs, divots in the walls, water on the floor where a fire extinguisher had been let off...and a bicycle thrown over the railing." Hilarious was Burke wrote that one of the chairs was broken by asst coach Paul Holmgren sitting in it--"they were built to hold Japanese men, and Paul was a big guy."

Sadly, in my opinion, Burke writes regarding the damage, "That was it. The damage was very slight and very limited. No big deal at all...All minimal stuff." Then, "If they had really trashed the room, we would have fined them and then given the Japanese the money. But there was nothing like that, so there was no need to take disciplinary action."

In 1997-98 Jeremy Roenick made $3,600,000 ($5.7M today). He couldn't do the right thing and pay for the damage?? The NHL stiffed the Japanese and the players walked unpenalized?? That's ok??

Amazingly (and without irony) Burke also writes, "Because it was the American team and everyone loves to hate the Americans, the whole thing blew up."
Thank you, Burkie, for helping further why 'everyone hates the Americans.' Unbelievable lack of accountability for a professional athlete representing his country.

I agree, Roenick could have given them his lunch money and it would have covered that damage like tenfold. Based on details I don't think Burke's wrong for saying it was made a bigger deal than it should have been, but he's also wrong that it was simply everyone hating, at least own the douche-ry and cover the US by just paying it and apologizing and moving on.

I’ve gotten some hockey books lately as well. I’m reading the book by H. Singh, the announcer from HNIC Punjabi. And I’ve ordered the books from Brian Burke and Nick Kypreos.
