How these absolute beauties aren’t our primary jerseys is beyond me:

Explain how what? The Oilers have McDavid/Draisaitl, and the Kings have a bunch of guys up front younger than 25, and they need to figure out if they're part of the future.

Good signing for them. Looks like they're finally getting some depth.

Kings still looking for a winger? Or are they pretty much done?

The McDavid effect.

That's a great signing for Edmonton.

Would have to assume we're pretty much done unless something falls into our lap.

26 guys signed, if you count Byfield and Turcotte, plus another 5 guys signed to AHL contracts. Some will end up in the ECHL, but that's still a lot of forwards. There's just not much space, if we want to see a couple younger guys on the Kings.

Not that it's the be all, end all, but Kahun has 25 goals in his last 138 games, while Carter has 30 in his last 136 games. Let's not get nuts. Kahun certainly has more potential at this point, but he was also traded by a Pittsburgh team that was looking for scorers.

I think the issue is Hoven threw it out there like it was a done deal the night before free agency started and then crickets. Similar to his Williams is going to be traded comments years ago. He’s obviously got connections but when he does stuff like this I think people doubt his credibility.

I think Hoven is guilty here of passing along that the Kings had interest and were offering him a deal, but didn't realize that the interest wasn't mutual of Omaha

I was just commenting on the fact that Hoven threw that tweet up for no real rhyme or reason, and then a few weeks later Kahun signs with Edmonton. The tweet was perfectly vague: was he merely suggesting who he would like to see on the Kings? Was he suggesting that the Kings had interest?

Sure, but Kahun is 25 and "his last 138 games" are also his first 138 games. Not that I even really care, I am in no way disappointed that the Kings didn't sign Kahun. I'm just questioning and poking fun at Hoven for posting that tweet in the first place.

He was clearly putting it out there because he had a strong feeling it would happen v. just what he'd like to see. He obviously has sources but not everything is going to come to fruition. I actually think he has become more of an "insider" than he was previously under the DL regime. That being said, the stuff he is right about most of the time still leans towards injuries, prospect stuff and jersey designs.

He's had a bit of a hot streak when it comes to the rebuild and the process but, then again, it is easy to say which guys will be traded and to have an idea of what Blake is doing since January of 2019. It isn't hard to see the veterans that had value and the ones that were more in the immovable side of the ledger. Even then he proclaimed that Clifford would never be traded only to see him traded and then not brought back for "free". Life comes at you fast though so it is always a real limb to walk out on when stating a 4th line wing will never be traded by a last place team when Gretzky was traded twice.

He's definitely worth following though if you are a Kings fan. My only problem with him isn't even with him but rather the posters on here that go "Hoven said xyz" like he is actually Rob Blake.

Sure, I totally agree, and I like Hoven. But I think he deserves criticism when he's wrong the same way I think he deserves praise when he's right.

I agree, you just gotta be ready for the Mayor’s street team of super fans to come after you if you criticize him.
