Maybe Carter will be to Hextall what Gagne was for DL.
Flyers fans are going to lose their mind if Carter wins a cup with Pittsburgh.
This reminds me of the Gagne move, exactly.

Brown is going to play his last game as a King. Undoubtedly.Sometimes some guys need to leave the team so that other players can step up. I'll miss Carter, but I hope it means that we'll have a 2C coming soon.
Wonder if AA and AI get traded now? There's no way Brown ever gets traded, right?
Does Carter even want to go? Thought there was word he would retire if he got traded.

One more year of Carter isn't much of a cross to bear for Pittsburgh, especially since they're not that far off from being in rebuild mode themselves. It looks like there might be a last hurrah gathering there.Brown makes $4m next year.
It's probable that Carter is gone now because this will be his last year. I don't get why Pit would want a 37 year old Carter, but, maybe he gets great again there. If this were Brown's last year, and he was wanting to play meaningful hockey one last time, I could see him being ok with going somewhere. My guess would be we're 10 or 11 months from maybe having to worry about that though.

Any word on Shafigullin's supposed arrival? (not that it means anything to Kings, but to the Reign)
Not sure if it will come into play or not, but with moving Carts for picks we now have two open contracts. This gives Blake some capacity to either pick up a salary dump player or sign one of their draftees.
I assume this will be tonight line-up.

With Andersson and Luff floating around, Kings still can lose on forward. I would say Brown is next to go. That would allow one of Kupari, Kayilev, or Fagemo to move up to the show.
Or Kings dump Lizotte.
Then where is the slot for a young kid to make the roster next year?
Kings will need to lose Wagner or Lizotte.
The expansion draft will probably solve one forward. Either Lizotte, Andersson or Wagner is gone. Maybe Maatta? Brown is done after next season. There will be spots soon.I assume this will be tonight line-up.
