I’d be fine with Suter on a bridge 2 year deal if we can’t land the young dynamic defenseman this summer…

I get shades of Willie Mitchell with Suter…
The Kings landed Scuderi and Mitchell even though they weren’t contenders at the time. They did it by giving them an extra year that other teams wouldn’t. I wouldn’t count the Kings out if Blake offered three years. Ryan Suter is an absolute rock. Maybe not as much offense any more, but he would be a great addition to the back end.

Willie mitchell will always be one of my favorite kings. But he was not LA's first target and LA was not his. Sometimes sloppy seconds work out great.

He's one of my favs also.

But I don't know if I agree with what you're saying here. Willie specifically said one the reasons he went to LA was because he thought they could be a contender.

Suter is going to generate a lot of interest around the league, when was the last time a high demand UFA signed with the Kings?

Kings might have to take Parise to get Suter. They were a package deal before. They were bought out together. They might still be a package deal.

15 million over 2 years for Suter. That's a lot of money considering he's getting his 7.5 from the Wild. Still doubt he wants to go to LA. He will go to Boston or Chicago.

At least the $11 million in dead cap that the kings had was just one season.

those three years from 2022-2025 are worse and are going to be rough.

That's silly, those two players are in a totally different situation now with very little leverage.

?????????????
they have a ton of leverage. They can still play. They are going to take short low money deals.
You don't think the Islanders, Avs, Blues, Maple Leafs, and every other team that had an early exit would be all over these two?

I can tell you that they aren't coming here. They are both older and want a sniff at the cup and plenty of teams will be willing to give them that chance

Polls board is doing a top 10 series on the worst contracts in the league. Doughty’s deal thankfully isn’t a voting option.

Progress.

Don't worry, the moment someone says any permutation of "Erik" or "Karlsson" the Swedes, Sens fans, and Sharks fans that have those terms on perma-search will show up to spike the vote!

There’s actually been quite a bit of discussion of Karlsson AND Vlasic in the two threads thus far and no one has brought up Drew. Good stuff.

Still, would’ve been nice if we could’ve convinced Drew and Anze to sign matching 9M dollar deals or something way back then. Not a huge difference, but yeah.
