Those are seasons that sure tested the loyalty of Kings fans. Some even turned to the Ducks in 2007. Guess some people can only handle so much of Cloutier, they reached a breaking point.

Oh, most certainly not. Going solely off memory here, the first "big" buy-out I remember Lombardi executing was Alan MacCauley <sic?>. IIRC, even though the money wasn't much at all, the buy-out years lasted for a LONG span (again, this is going solely off memory - I seem to recall looking at the roster around the beginning of the year of the first Cup win and seeing MacCauley's name on the salaried roster and thinking, "Whaaaa?!?!" Now, of course, Richards blows everything else away easily, length-wise...)

Seems like the guy doesn't play enough D, and doesn't provide nearly enough offense to play regularly. Something needs to improve for him to become an NHL regular.

I have seen some offensive flashes from Wolanin. I don't know if it will ever amount to much in the NHL, but you never know. He'll probably produce pretty well in Ontario.

As for the Wolanin signing, the only thing I take from it is that Brickely’s time with the org is done.

Wolanin showed some promise at the worlds. I see him as a 6/7 guy but a decent one.
