I still disike Turcotte's deployment. I think he should be on the first line power play instead of the second. After last game, he deserved it. On another aspect, Turcotte needs to bury those chances

This is what I'm thinking too. I get that Boldy is a bigger body and has had a good tournament but that first PP unit should be Turcotte, Zegras, Kaliyev on the right and Caufield on the left. Also, why they consistently put Kaliyev on the left when he can't unload his bomb is baffling to me. But it is what it is.

Canada is just too good this year. Not sure the US can beat them

Was just going to say, no way any team is beating this Canadian team. It was said before the tournament and now we are seeing why. They're just too good. US might not even get past Finland. But Askarov is getting absolutely rocked right now. Sheesh.

Thought Russia would’ve been one of the tougher opponents for Canada, but they look gassed and can’t handle Canada’s speed and aggressive forechecking.

Byfield has also been a handful for them to handle along the boards, and he created a great scoring chance before the end of the period with a wraparound attempt. Not quite Frolov like, but close.

I will say I need to reexamine how I evaluate players.

I soured a bit on Newhook and Makar more than I should have given the leagues they played in during their draft year.

It's nuts that even when CO has to re-sign MacKinnon for bookoo bucks that they'll be rolling in Newhook and Byram on ELCs. The timing is unfair.

If you're watching this for the future and not simply for today's boxscore, it's insane watching this kid.

That was me at the start of tournament, wanted goals, points... Then QB got 6 against the Swiss, and I was like, meh.. Now I watch for game

I just love watching Turcotte. Such a gamer, always in the right place, makes the game easier for his teammates. He already has a pro game, just needs to play more than 35 games in a season to get his body right.
