Got a little bit nervous there for a few minutes, but once they slowed the game down they had the composure to see it out.

after watching the usa all tournament your left scratching your head why ottawa took sanderson ahead of drysdale
As a ducks fan I’m glad they did cause I feel like we had sanderson over drysdale also.
After paying more attention to drysdale and watching some of his interviews and what not I think he’s going to be a pretty special dmen for us.

I still think sanderson will be a good dmen but I def take drysdale over him.

Really enjoyed watching chromiak play in the tourney and really wonder how good he’d look if he was playing with a USA/Canada/Russia type team... think he’s going to be a good one but he’s kinda on his own on Slovakia

turcotte was solid tonight, I thought tonight was fabers worst game of the tourney(not that it was bad just had a few iffy plays, I assume the ice was a bit iffy tho) . Thought kaliyev had 1 of his stronger games too.

Looking forward to the semis!

So the Semifinal matchups are set for Monday:

Canada vs. Russia at 3:00 PM PST
USA vs. Finland at 6:30 PM PST

These four teams were the best teams in this years tournament. The Sweden-Finland game was pretty much a toss up but at the end, these were the strongest teams and both games can go either way personally. I think Canada is too strong in every position and will squeak through a tough game against Russia, but I think it's a toss up between the U.S. and the Fins. U.S. vs. Canada would be an epic match up though.

Well the numbers certainly support your hypothesis King'sPawn. Quinn is a boat anchor. I think you were the one who mentioned that Quinn's club coach is also the coach of Team Canada? Or am I misremembering?

I can't claim complete credit. Lauren mentioned the points first, which I paid closer attention to and confirmed.

So, yes, I did say both points, but they weren't my original thoughts/observations. I di notice it later though.

Still scratch my head as to why Quinn was taken so high by Buffalo.

Also, many on here thought Drysdale was overrated due to a weak dman year.

Again long way to go and careers shouldn’t be judged based on this tournament.

Sometimes I think things are just so nitpicked and overthought. Especially this year.

Quinn has definitely looked out of place on the roster, he seems to ruin/botch/fumble a lot of possessions. Numbers seem to confirm that.

Byfield and Turcotte bigger picture are Kings hockey.

Never give up and responsible to the game. Tough to play against and built more for playoff hockey.

They passed on Stutzle and Zegras who may be more flash and dash.

That said, skill is important too. Kopi is tremendously skilled but he has always sacrificed some points for an all around game.

Kings still have DLs blueprint...maybe with a bit more individual speed/skill.

I think Byfield’s and Turcotte’s numbers will suffer a bit in LA but no one will care if it brings team success.

A wise man told me that winning is entertaining. Probably more than watching a Bure or Gretzky without a cup ;)

That was a really good episode and I like that a lot of it boils down to "no one gives a shit about WJC boxscores." This board has been good about it but still refreshing to hear after the absurdities of comparing production between guys playing 10 and 30 minutes a game as just one example.

I still disike Turcotte's deployment. I think he should be on the first line power play instead of the second. After last game, he deserved it. On another aspect, Turcotte needs to bury those chances
