I don't expect Turcotte to spend much time in Ontario. The only part of his game that worries me is he's a little reckless out there.

Vilardi and Byfield are the opposite of reckless, so I'm ok with that.

He's like a bloodhound on a scent.

He goes hard into the corners. He's worked on his face-offs and does all the little things that win a hockey game, especially come playoff time.

Moreso, he's a leader out there on the ice. You can tell he's also a leader off the ice as well.

Turcotte was always there, all three zones, to support his teammates. Constant station to station, up the ice, efficient control until a chance was created. He doesn't seem to care if he is the one that gets the chance either, its relentless pressure so his team gets it on net. Volume over style. That's what reminds me so much of Mike Richards, its that "us versus them" mentality kind of game.

Its just three or four idiots, no one worth listening to

I don't go on the main boards, just because of that. Man, if they hate Turcotte, they don't know the game too well....or notice
all the plays he makes and always making good things happen. Not to mention that he's not easy to play against or contain.
He really has no weakness. Do these posters only embrace players that score 30+ goals? I'd rather have Turcotte than several
of them.

If they hate Turcotte, they must hate Caufield more...if he isn't scoring (and he isn't) he is not doing much.

The thing that grabs me about Turcotte is that he does everything so well, even if you don't think he's a top-end #2 center, he does so many things well that he can be a really valuable #3, like a better Jarret Stoll. Now, is that what you want out of the #5 pick? No, but if he's contributing to winning with Byfield/Vilardi centering the top 6, for me that's the goal.

That's what wins you championships rather than just scoring titles.

Not that it matters, but looks to me like Turcotte should have gotten an assist on Zegras's goal. Sure looks like Fabers shot hit him and then went to Zegras. But great game by Turcotte eventually the points will come. And not against a weaker team. Let's go USA.

Incredible game from the US! Player of the game for Turcotte! Probably one of the best games I've seen from him.

He was outstanding and that is a great sign. Players like him, who thrive at the highest level of competition are the ones who can lead a team to a championship. That 'instinct' , that drive, that mental tenacity, you can' teach or learn , you are born to it.

He will be a great part of the Kings future young core.

I hate to tell you this , but caufield gets it worse than turcotte on the mainboards.

I wouldn’t read into those threads tho, the flashy players are going to stand out in this type of tournaments

zegras def benefits from turcotte being on his line ... even if it doesn’t always show up in the scoresheet.

turcotte kinda reminds me of a prime Kesler(with less edge in his game)... going to make opponents earn every inch of the ice, and go against the opponents top players on a night to night basis. He’s in a great situation in LA where he’ll likely end up their 2c... behind byfield/vilardi. The team isnt going to be super dependent on him putting up huge offensive #s(I still think he’ll flirt around that 55-70 range offensively tho in his prime)

Definitely agree Caufield gets it worse. Though I feel he's been dreadful relative to his peers and skill level.

Though I reiterate, this is such a screwy year with COVID, that much more care should be taken in any analysis.

Kesler is a good comparison with Turcotte. I would use the Toews comparison - not so much skill level, but his style of play and role
