I believe QB could do what Timmy is doing on team Germany, if all O was funneled through QB and he played all 2 minutes of each power play like Stutzle lol.

I love both players. I vacillated between the 2 all summer. I'll admit I was gripping a little watching Timmy look like a highlight reel machine while QB took a back seat on team Canada. I still have faith QB will be a game breaking stud for us for years to come. He has looked good to me even though he wasn't on the scoresheet at first. In the beginning I don't think his line was clicking. At one point, his winger kept creeping into QBs areas cramping his style. On thing that stands out to me is QBs willingness to park his big ass right in the goalies kitchen. That'll lead to goals for sure. He also has made some pretty slick passes and crafty O zone entries. He's also been a Stoll-esq beast at the dot. Hopefully he can build on his outstanding performance from last game.
I think QB fits the style LA wants to play. Developed right and he will be a future all around number one center.

In the end team success will mean more than individual success. Winning is fun even if you’re the boring Kings ;)

Byfield has skill too, he isn’t a slouch by any means.

Sorry if this has already been covered, but does NHL.com stream the games if you pay for their TV package?

like 99% sure they dont. they only stream the NHL games but NHL Network is a seperate entity.

I've had this issue for years now, I hate that I cant just pay to stream NHL network without having to buy sling or whatever and I hate that NHL network is not included in Nhl.TV

Makes zero f***ing sense that they dont make their channel avail to stream as standalone. NHL Network should be free imo - stop making hockey so hard for people to watch.

2nd Period will not be pretty. I expect Canada to start potting a few and then the flood gates will open. 1 Shot in the first period, not gonna score with 1 shot.

Barely see Byfield out there. On the 2nd PP unit and gets like 30 sec of the PP after the 1st PP.

From what little time he plays, I've yet to see him lose a board battle. I'd be more concerned about that or the faceoffs rather than points in a limited 3rd/4th line minutes role.

He got crosschecked from behind into a stick in the teeth on his first shift and it shook him up pretty good but he looked fine again by the end of the period

Easy call that the refs decided not to call. Square in the #'s.

was thinking the same about the board battles, i like what i see from someone as young as he is

i think he's just an easy target for the armchair GMs on this forum, he's a highly skilled, low effort player.. that doesn't pass the ADHD eye test the way someone like stuetzle does

For all the talk about his two-way play and lack of IQ or whatever abstractions people were complaining about pre-draft, he is utterly dominant analytically this tournament and it's hilarious.

Also seems like some call him FAST and some call him SLOW. I think he looks fast, for any size, the fact that he is really big is even more impressive. I don't see a slow dumb lumbering player like some people are describing, I see a fast lanky skinny kid that needs to put on some weight and get more comfortable in their frame.

Canada with another PP and PP2 line finally comes out with 20 seconds left.

Finland with a 2-1 breaking out and Byfield turns on the after burners to completely negate the open winger.

And then he sits after a 19-second shift.

He HAS passed the 11-minute threshold. Guess that's all he gets

Canada’s top 3 lines are better than the Kings current top 9. Whatever CAN or QB or any of the Kings prospects do in this amateur tournament, the guys they have to beat out in the short term are AHLers.

to be completely honest he appears to gas quickly though, maybe that's where he gets the "loafing" look from, aside from being such a damn large young man. earlier in the 2nd he was caught out there for a longer shift and the announcer was like "byfield leaves the ice hobbling" its like nah he's just tired man..

again, i'm not concerned, once he gets to ontario he's getting elite strength and conditioning coaching and that'll be brought up to snuff real quick, especially judging from how everyone calls him a coaching sponge

as much as i like stuetzle et al, i still think someone like byfield is what this team needs and i feel good about it
