Brother, different team

Brother, age 15, plays for Ilves U20 squad. If he commits to UND he's a lock for Dorion to take 1st OA in the 2023 draft.

Thanks, did not know that.

Actually encouraging to have a player that comes from what appears to be a hockey family, you are bound to strike gold with at least one of them (ex. Hossa brothers, Staal brothers, Nylander's, Hughes brothers etc.)

One of the things that is prevalent in the Sens drafting, absolutely a trend they have categrized.

Since 2015:
Wolanin
Batherson
Jarventie
Grieg
Wolanin
Kastelic
Gruden
Daccord
Dahlen
Brown
Tkachuk
Sanderson

More than 25% of the Sens picks from the past 6 drafts have family that played or are involved in the NHL

The only thing I'm not a fan of from this draft was trading 59OA and 64OA for Kleven(44OA). Not because of value, but because we gave the Laffs two picks in a deep draft, while Kleven seems like a pretty tame pick, meanwhile Toronto got some pretty big boom/bust prospects. TBD!
We shall have to track this to see who was the really smart genius GM. :)

Daoust scores on a PP 1-1 after 1, he adds an assist on Moncton's 2nd goal, currently 2-3 after 2
Daoust scores his 2nd early in 3rd now tied 3-3
Daoust currently 21st in QMJHL scoring
Moncton win 4-3
Daoust 2g 1a
Daoust was the #1 star of the game

Up to 10pts in 9 games. Quickly closing in on his 29pts in 58 games from last season.

Daoust in action again tonight , Moncton leading 3-2 end of the 2nd, Daoust 2 mins for tripping
After allowing Charlottetown to score at 1959 of the 2nd and 0:39 secs of the 3rd to tie it up at 3-3, Moncton regained the lead with Daoust gaining an assist at 8:07 of the 3rd, and Charlottetown ties it up at 4-4 3 mins later

Charlottetown score 4 in the 3rd to win 6-4

Scouching review is out. Obviously not very kind to our draft.

I do think he's pretty harsh on Sanderson and Greig. Both have way more offensive talent than he lets off. However, he is completely on point about not liking our late-round picks.

Has anyone who focusing on the draft/prospects really liked our draft? The only crew who I think would rate us highly would be hockeyprospect.com and specifically Brad Allen who had a few interviews on the Welcome to your Karlsson years podcasts.

How come obviously?
Only watched a few scouching videos. There’s a story?

He's not a big fan of over-agers, which we took plenty of in the later rounds. He's also apparently a Leafs fan, so some bias might be there. However, he looks into players so well that it's hard to say.

I know a guy like Scouch had players higher than Sanderson (I had a couple too) but he wasn't ba reach and will almost certainly be a good to very good NHL player. And Greig is a young player who could be a gritty 2nd liner. Worth that gamble at 28.

Our first four picks are looking good and carry much more weight than a few questionable to bad later round picks.
