so....we got 5 names confirmed so far...still haven't seen anything on Gaudette, but I would imagine he is coming at this rate....

Limoges, Newell and Fox are probably next guys who is coming. Another typical year.

If Turcotte is sick for the WJC18 but recovers in time for this tournament, he should be on this team. With the historic season he's had, he should probably be on this team anyway, but its an easier decision to add him, if he misses out on the World Championships in his own age group due to illness.

forwards coming together per usual, centers and the rest lacking per usual lol..

so far, these names have been confirmed:

Chris Kreider
Alex DeBrincat
James vanRiemsdyk
Frank Vatrano

Brady Skjei
Quinn Hughes

Jack Hughes - seems he will be coming if healthy after u-18
Adam Gaudette - heard something on him a while back, have yet to see any news on him coming fot sure..

I think guys like Sheary and Iafallo would be a decent additions. Coyotes guys has been really quiet. It is interesting because there would be many good options.

Wonder if McD or Johnson consider going if Tampa gets knocked out.

Could be a treasure trove if the Jets get knocked out. Wheeler, Trouba, Buff, Hayes, Connor, Roslovic, Hellebucyk.

if you guys get too many declines someone like ryan lasch could be a good option. he is the best player in shl. no doubt for me that he can play in nhl. he was part of the 2012 team but he is way better nowdays.

He is 32, so i don't see it happen, but it would be great if NHL team would give him a proper chance. I think he could do what Derek Ryan did.

The last time USAH included a Europe-based player was technically Auston Matthews in 2016; however, the last time they brought along a truly Europe-based player it was Steve Moses (KHL) and Dan Sexton (KHL) in 2015. USAH used to regularly bring along at least one Europe-based players (every tournament team from 2008 - 2016 had at least one), but the last couple of years they've shied away from it. I think it's a few things: they've had improved (although still bad) acceptance rates from NHL players, they've targeted more NCAA players, and the 2018 Olympics probably turned them away from some of these players, or in the case of Lasch, his Olympic omission may have turned him away from USAH.

I'm sure they'll eventually re-engage some of these types going forward. I wonder how long it will take.

Delia would be the much better add, unless he becomes the #2 here lol...

It's also possible they already have 2 goalies locked up and they're targeting a young prospect as the #3 for experience.

I'll still believe it when it happens on Schneider, but something like this seems possible:
  • Cory Schneider
  • Jack Campbell
  • Cayden Primeau
Or even something like this:
  • Jack Campbell
  • Thatcher Demko
  • Cayden Primeau

gave up on Howard??

gave up on Howard??

Not necessarily, but I'm not banking on having a veteran goalie play and I definitely don't expect two veterans. We also haven't heard anything on Howard and he has 3 young kids. I could see Howard playing because it's probably one of his last guaranteed opportunities to represent Team USA, he's done so a lot, and I don't think he thinks of the 2017 tournament as his swan song (he didn't play last year because of the birth of his daughter). Schneider also has 2 young kids, but there's at least been news about him so far.

Or Gibson:huh:

I'd be ecstatic if Gibson played. Those weren't my dream lists. We just haven't heard anything on Gibson, he hasn't played in this tournament since 2013, and we never get one of our elite goalies to show up for this tournament.

we are begging for Jack Campbell and Cory Schneider to come, and you want to throw his name out there lol...it would be great to see, but heard no news at all on him. Gibson did play less minutes this year than last, but he has played 60 games in back to back years, doubt he comes.

Why not? You never know. Kaner came last year so maybe we can be suprised positively again. I think Cambell will be our number one but you can always speculate before roster is announced. Gibson is NTDP alum so it is disappointing if we dont see him in national team this year. 2013 was last time.

Oh I know, just messing with you. Just funny that we are hoping for B and C level goalies and here you go throwing out a guy considered top 3 in the game! Trust me, I am secretly hoping as well, if he comes this team is a Gold medal candidate because of him in our net. Even though Quick had such a bad year, same for him as well - in a freaking heartbeat would I be ecstatic.

Penguins are on life support down 3-0 in their playoff series. Barring a miraculous comeback, there should be quite a few players coming available: Jake Guentzel, Phil Kessel, Brian Dumoulin, Nick Bjugstad, Zach Aston-Reese, Matt Cullen, Bryan Rust, Jack Johnson.

They should absolutely target the first 3 guys and say no thank you to the rest except maybe Rust if the declines are bad. Unless Guentzel is injured, I'm really hopeful he'll show up. He just signed a big contract and he's never represented Team USA, so you'd think he'd jump at the opportunity. I can't imagine Kessel showing up and no idea on Dumoulin.
