You really have to give huge credit for Kane. He doesn't only improve Team US but also the entire competition gets a massive boost. Kane seems to be a really great guy. We can only thank him for coming to Slowakia. Some self decared Canadian Superstars could really learn a esson in Terms of humbleness and sportsmanship from him.

Totally agree with that. Him showing up consistently at the tournament is amazing for the hockey fans, for his team, and for this whole tournament. Shows good character.

We now know DeKeyser and Howard declined while Larkin is likely on board. First we've heard of Glendening. He was injured down the stretch but would be a good 4th line center / PK guy that could play on the 3rd line if needed.

Calgary on the brink. I wouldn't be surprised to see them come back and win the series, but if they don't there'll be some great options:
  • Johnny Gaudreau - Not sure he'd play after how frustrated he was at last year's tournament but he almost always answers the call for USAH. No contract issue.
  • Matthew Tkachuk - Would be awesome for him and Brady to both join, but unlike Brady, I'd be pretty surprised if Matthew played. He's an RFA and likely headed for a huge contract this summer.
  • Derek Ryan - Would be an awesome addition. He was great last year, he's one of the top faceoff guys in the NHL, a true 200 foot player that can contribute offensively. He would be the perfect 3rd line center for the team assuming Larkin/Eichel are there centering the top two lines. No contract issue.
  • Noah Hanifin - Unless he's battling an injury, I'd imagine he'd play and we need to add top 4 d-men like him. He's played 2 of the 3 years he's been in the NHL, only missing the tournament last year as he was an RFA. Unlike last year, he's now signed to a big contract.

Remember when Larkin was a RFA last off-season but still played in the Worlds?
yep, and Derek Ryan and Brian Gibbons were both UFA's that played...pretty sure Gibbons was as well..some guys will come for love of country or maybe to help promote themselves more for that next contract..I am fine either way as long as some guys do it lol..

Possibly Calgary comes back if MacKinnon is kidnapped or abducted by aliens .

good stuff. the U.S. roster thread is outpacing the Canadian roster thread. usually we are on thread III. Oh how the times are changing.

Gally was snubbed in 2014 from Olympic roster and i guess he took it personal. Hopefully they can add Guentzel, J.Johnson and McDonagh. I also really hope they bring J.Hughes after U18 tournament.

It is also shame that Saad and Tkachuk said no. Zucker is another one. But least this team is really good. D just needs least one big addition.

DeBrincat-Eichel-Kane
Guentzel-Larkin-Keller
JvR
-J.Hughes-Kreider
Vatrano-White-
Labanc
Glendening

Suter-
J.Johnson
McDonagh-Skjei
Martinez-Hughes

Dumoulin/Braun/Ryan/Fox

Schneider
Demko

Really surprised wow, I wasn’t really expecting Suter and thought that at least one of Eichel - Larkin likely pass on it. Hopefully Dylan is fully recovered before WC starts.

But man... those goalies, where are those times when only department that was clicking more than not was goaltending. If only Campbell or Quick, Gibson accepted.

Schneider was playing much better down the stretch. Hopefully that continues . He's had a lot of adversity to overcome.
