Walker and Madden have played together quite a bit in the past, and would be a terror together. Both strong skaters, smart, able to play C, and with an aggressive offensive game. Neither are very big, but they both have "jam", for want of a better word. Would be good if they paired with a bigger grinder type.

I feel like racism is a little more pervasive and insidious than just saying you're sorry a couple of times and it's cleared up. It's a major societal ill, not a spilled coffee.

yeah but at a certain point you allow people to move on from it... everyone shows bad judgement in their lives, its not like he has a long storied history of Racism and this was just one of many incidents... sooner or later everyone moves past it, even the victim of it.... nobody is saying its not a big deal but bringing it up in useless stupid posts about a world junior team a decade later and thinking its somehow relevant is also why society doesn't move past these things as fast as they should. I think everyone deserves the opportunity to move past stuff in their past, nobody is perfect... including you!

When have Walker and Madden played together?

1 point and 1 question.

1. Im fully expecting Quinn Hughes to be the best Dman in this tourny.

2. For Team USA/NCAA Hockey fans: what do you see Tyler Madden bringing to the team if he does make it.? Or will it just be as 13th Fwd.

Thanks.

Has anyone seen the tv schedule for non USA games on Nhl Network yet? When does that usually come out?

The team looks solid down the center. Hughes should be one of the best forwards in the tourney, Norris is having a good season, I dont think Poehling is anything special but as a third line center hes really solid at this level. The D is good as well. Where the team seems to lack is on the wing. Wahlstrom being as bad as hes been this year really hurts because if he was doing what his draft day potential said he could right now, it would be scary with the other guys up there. O'Brien is another guy looking subpar for his draft spot.

Overall I wouldnt call this the states best they've sent recently, they still should medal but I dont think its a guarantee either.

I don't think anyone is saying this team is near the best we have produced...there is enough talent on defense and in net to grind out wins...we have enough top 6 scoring to get us to the medal games, but outside of that this team will be filled with hard working two way players - some years that works well, others you get your ass kicked by teams who out skill us...

I wasnt trying to say anyone was calling this team the best you have produced if it sounded like that! I was more just throwing out my thoughts on the roster overall.

Regarding what he can bring to the table, this kid isn't going to try to undress anyone nor is he a shoot first sniper like Norris. However Madden has a versatility to his game that makes him a solid candidate for the bottom 6 and special teams.

Speed wise he can keep up with some quick players which should serve him well if he cracks the roster. He's responsible in his own zone, has an active stick and is extremely disciplined. On offense he makes smart plays and is constantly putting himself in great position. Any lack of physical strength is mitigated with elusiveness. Plays the game with intelligence.

I think he can be a scorer, hopefully he can surprise some people. More a playmaker than a shooter, but he can do a little bit of everything. Quick and pretty polished with the puck in my viewings. Always seems to make a play.

There are some other good D men that want to have a word, for example Erik Brännström. Brännström has 20 points in 23 games in AHL, he had 4 in 7 last World Juniors. And he is better this season. Another defenceman to keep an eye on is Oskari Laaksonen, only drafted in the third round but he has an really good season so far. 13 points in 25 games in Liiga. Not expecting him to be the best defenceman in the tournament but one of the best.

I wonder what the uniforms will look like. Probably like the past years, the diagonal USA which is a beautiful jersey. But i've been enjoying the dark blue USA variant that Team USA has used at the Hlinka and now the WJAC, its so slick. Either or, are great, i just pray that that they dont use those god awful Olympic jerseys that they've put the NTDP, for some games, in for some reason.

It will most likely be the Olympic template unfortunately.

Really surprising that they left mobile-puck moving defensemen like Walsh and Gildon home. On a different note, as a Bruins fan, I really hope Keyser is given a fair shake at winning the starting role in net.

I kinda wish the USA just took the entire U18 squad instead as that team is f***ing insane, but that's impossible

this team seems good too

Connor Garland left off last year showed me they do lots of strange things.
