Confirmed. Rangers did a least reach out to Colorado, who wasn’t interested in moving the pick because they liked someone (Newhook).

However, Colorado and Rangers are not done talking Kreider. Talks are still open.
Thanks for the info. I really wont be too interested in their 1st rounder next year.

Do you want to give him 7 x 7 and pay him until he is 36? Think about this team's history and how many players have fallen apart in their early 30s. If he's willing to take a 4 year deal, that's a different conversation, but if not, he needs to be traded.

No 100% do not. Certainly term and $$$ matters. But in a vacuum I don't have any preconceived notions that we MUST trade kreider for a low first.

Why? They don’t have anything else we should want at this point. Don’t think that’ll go very far

Not getting a second 1st rounder is no problem. I still don’t want to sign Kreider to a massive contract. And the Zucc news sucks. I still have hope that Dallas finds a way to sign him.

Why the **** would they do any of that.

Jesus christ Rangerstown™️!

We are finally building. You guys are like people who lived under the Iron curtain who keep wanting to go back because they don't know any better.

Uh, we are. If Kreider is back on a FAIR CAP hit, and you bring back Zucc in a middle-six role, you can STILL add them to Zibanejad, Lias, Chytil, Howden, Kravtsov (coming over), Kakko (will be a Day 1 plug-in). You can still explore FAIR trades for Kreider, and upgrade with Panarin. A team of 12 20-year olds has never won the Stanley Cup for a reason. Having 2/3 "vets" in the lineup is NOT a bad thing.

How the hell can anyone be disappointed after tonight? We literally just drafted the FRANCHISE player that we have never had. So many times Ive wished we could be drafting the elite franchise player, and we now have our own. Blows my mind that anyone could be disappointed. Oh and, what everyone has cooled off on is the fact the Kravtsov is with us now as well. Were a completely different team from last year, especially from a talent/scoring outlook.

I still don't think internally that's important to them next year. I think next year is the last year they wont have any internal pressure/expectations to make the playoffs. 2021 they want to be back in the dance.

You see I kind of disagree a bit with you on this. Though there might not be alot of pressure to make the playoffs this upcoming season, I think alot of these moves the Rangers are making are all geared for us to not only continue the rebuild but to also create a winning environment and that means making a playoff run.

I would think that JD and Gorton have said to Quinn, we are going to give you the best possible lineup we can at this point in time and it should be good enough if enough things go according to plan the team could get one of those last seeds.

Don't forget other than the Caps and maybe the Pens but even they are vulnerable as they have some serious warts that have appeared recently in the Metro and the Lightning, Bruins and Leafs in the Atlantic, there are no other teams I see that I can say "yup...that team is a lock for the playoffs" which leaves 3-4 spots available for the taking.

So yeah, I think the Rangers are going to head into the season thinking they could and should be in the playoff mix come late March/early April of 2020.

Well, we always have our favorites, so every year when we miss them we're disappointed.

I am disappointed in the GMs, though. Everyone's willing to be bold in their *picks*, and yet not moves. As if they'd rather be 100% wrong about a player than come off as a 45-55 loser to another team.

We’re disappointed because we’ve known we’re getting either Kakko or Hughes (mainly Kakko.) it was expected. But with all this hyping of us trading back up we had higher expectations. Everyone was saying today would be crazy but nothings happened.

Yes there are but this team can absolutely finish middle of the pack.
I hope they don't. I'd like to bottom out next year and then the year after push for the playoffs/ finish middle of the pack. Another high pick would do wonders for this team to hopefully get a future number 1 center.
