Not just roster wise, but cap wise. This is an extreme example, but the Preds traded Subban partially because they feel confident backfilling with Fabbro.

By the time Robertson and Jones potentially turn pro, the guys we have now will have given us a pretty clear indication of whether or not they will be pieces of the future.

I think people are lumping in the 18 year olds with the 21/22 years olds and I don’t see them occupying a ton of the same space in the organization.

Was gonna post this almost verbatim.

If all of these LD work out (they won't) we can always trade some for other areas of need.

Not an issue

I personally don’t fully buy into the idea of always taking BPA, but I don’t really look at need on the current NHL team, but rather organizationally among prospects.

I just thought it was funny how some of the reactions were at odds with the common wisdom.

Its all just more assets to move around via trade if needed.

Reactions: Calad and Edge
Let’s assume Robertson and Jones both develop and turn pro at 20.

The guys who are 21 now will be 23 at that time. I think we’ll have a pretty good indication of who is AHL fodder and who is pushing for a spot when evaluating those who are still in the organization by that point.

Lol, they’re not all playing together next season.
