Bobby Brink to me feels like a Chayka pick at 14 - a late riser who also has a late birthday.
Also, think of all the cool references to "Brink!" that could be made. That alone is worth a bump in draft positions.

I’ve watched a couple of Brink’s USHL games. I worry about Brink’s overall quickness, given his lack of size. I’d take a chance on him, but maybe not so high in the draft. His linemate Marcus Kallionkieli has a real dynamic quality to his game. I’d definitely take a look at him with our 2nd or Chicago’s 3rd. Again, I’m talking about a two game sample size.

I really like Krebs but I can't imagine he's around at 14.

How far away is he? I think just one more year in the 'Dub'.

9 Alex DeBrincat (RW/LW)2015-2016 Erie Otters 60gp 51g
10Jeff Skinner (LW) 2009-2010 Kitchener Rangers 64gp 50g

No doubt...late birthday is on his metrics for sure. I'm warming up to Soderstrom. Not too many 17yr olds playing top 4 mins in SHL.

I'm guessing our pick is between the following:
Newhook, Caufield, Kaliyev, Soderstrom, Seider, Lavoie

Who would everyone take?

I don't think Thomas is accurate...his draft year was 2010 (so it would have been his 2009-2010 season in which he had 66pts in 64g, but only 41 goals...so he didn't hit 50G in a pre-draft year like the other guys.

I just want a forward again. As we drop down outside the top five or so there are a lot of names that look intriguing. Outside of the national teams, I saw no junior hockey this year, so my opinion is less useful than ever before. I'll do what I did with Hayton and talk myself out of hating the pick. Unless it's a small defenseman.

1. NJD - Kakko
2. NYR - Hughes
3. CHI - Byram
4. COL - Dach
5. LAK - Cozens
6. DET - Turcotte
7. BUF - Podkolzin
8. EDM - Boldy
9. ANA - Krebs
10.VAN - Zegras
11.PHI - Newhook
12.MIN - Caulfield
13.FLA - Harley
14.ARI - ???

Could we see Kaliyev in such a circumstance? Or do we go with yet another D like Broberg, Soderstrom, Seider or York? Do we reach on a "premium" safer center like Lavoie, McMichael or Tomasino? Or maybe someone in the middle in-terms of upside, like Suzuki (no thanks)?

Well, Need to adjust top 13 slightly as Buffalo will never pick a Ruskie, Bottrill is a supreme fan of the NTDP so Boldy or Zegras would be the pick...and I'm not sure Edmonton will select a Ruskie either given what happened the last time, Podkolzin, even though he's clearly in my mind the 3rd best prospect could fall to Anaheim, Vancouver or Philly.

But if it does go like that and all the forwards are gone, I'm ok with taking a RHD there, either Soderstrom or Seider. Even though Broberg is an unbelievable skater, I wouldnt choose a LHD because we've got a butt load of those guys!
