Also, think of all the cool references to "Brink!" that could be made. That alone is worth a bump in draft positions.Bobby Brink to me feels like a Chayka pick at 14 - a late riser who also has a late birthday.
I’ve watched a couple of Brink’s USHL games. I worry about Brink’s overall quickness, given his lack of size. I’d take a chance on him, but maybe not so high in the draft. His linemate Marcus Kallionkieli has a real dynamic quality to his game. I’d definitely take a look at him with our 2nd or Chicago’s 3rd. Again, I’m talking about a two game sample size.Bobby Brink to me feels like a Chayka pick at 14 - a late riser who also has a late birthday.
Late June birthday though. That might equalize it. That’s another of Chayka’s triggers. There is 'zero' chance we select Kaliyev...unfortunately. Doesn't seem to be a Chayka "Premium" player. Chayka likes those 200 ft players.
OHL players in 03/04 that put up 50g or more in a single season before turning 19 years old:
1 John Tavares (C) 2006-2007 Oshawa Generals 67gp 72g
2 Patrick Kane (RW) 2006-2007 London Knights 58gp 62g
3 Steven Stamkos (C) 2007-2008 Sarnia Sting 61gp 58g
4 John Tavares (C) 2008-2009 Total 56gp 58g
5 Tyler Toffoli (RW) 2010-2011 Ottawa 67's 68gp 57g
6 Christian Thomas (RW) 2010-2011 Oshawa Generals 66gp 54g
7 Alex DeBrincat (RW/LW)2014-2015 Erie Otters 68gp 51g
8 Arthur Kaliyev (LW) 2018-2019 Hamilton Bulldogs 67gp 51g
9 Alex DeBrincat (RW/LW)2015-2016 Erie Otters 60gp 51g
10Jeff Skinner (LW) 2009-2010 Kitchener Rangers 64gp 50g
The list was filtered by U19. I guess he was U19.I don't think Thomas is accurate...his draft year was 2010 (so it would have been his 2009-2010 season in which he had 66pts in 64g, but only 41 goals...so he didn't hit 50G in a pre-draft year like the other guys.
A hockey prospect . com mock draft has the Coyotes taking Finnish prospect Ville Heinola. Let's not.
Heiskanen?I'm cool with Swedish D and Finnish F but I wouldn't do the reverse.
RD or scoring winger. If all top C’s Gone.1. NJD - Kakko

3. CHI - Byram
4. COL - Dach

10.VAN - Zegras
11.PHI - Newhook
12.MIN - Caulfield
13.FLA - Harley
14.ARI - ???
Could we see Kaliyev in such a circumstance? Or do we go with yet another D like Broberg, Soderstrom, Seider or York? Do we reach on a "premium" safer center like Lavoie, McMichael or Tomasino? Or maybe someone in the middle in-terms of upside, like Suzuki (no thanks)?
