I can live with that.
Chicago got f*cked, that's all I care about.
Chicago got ****ed???
Yes, but still a might anticlimactic. We somehow managed to not drop -- small victories!
How is not moving from the 14th spot anticlimactic?Yes, but still a might anticlimactic.
got to draft a Kucherov, Point, Burns, Erik Karlsson, Gaudreau, Panarin, Tarasenko, Marchand, Bergeron, Barzal, Stone or several other elite players not picked at the top of the first. Being shitty at the lottery and marginal in your drafting sure isn’t a good recipe for success though.Alright. So we are never going to get a star player I guess. Chayka appears hell bent on us sneaking into the playoffs, which at this juncture I do understand. However, I can’t see us ever being better then the bottom of the bubble if our best players are OEL and Keller. No offense to them, but they’re nowhere near that top tier of elite players that you need to contend. Hayton and POJ aren’t those players either. We don’t have any. This was our last hope for a long time of getting one.
I think most all of us, as would every and any sports fan anywhere, were hoping for movement to a more favorable position. When we remained neutral (so quickly), it was anticlimactic. How is not moving from the 14th spot anticlimactic?
Also maybe reconsider trading top ten picks for 27 year olds that look like 37 year olds or ones that are as brittle as 87 year olds.got to draft a Kucherov, Point, Burns, Erik Karlsson, Gaudreau, Panarin, Tarasenko, Marchand, Bergeron, Barzal, Stone or several other elite players not picked at the top of the first. We had a 5% chance of moving up. Of course we’re all pissed it didn’t happen. You do realize Fan is short for Fanatic, right? How is not moving from the 14th spot anticlimactic?
LOL, maybe not pissed, but the celebration sure didn't happen. We had a 5% chance of moving up. Of course we’re all pissed it didn’t happen. You do realize Fan is short for Fanatic, right?
There’s a decent shot the Devils take Kakko if he kills it at the Worlds for the men’s team. It’s already a razor thin margin. The Devils passed on Patrick despite him having been the projected first overall for at least three years. Hall-Hischier-Kakko is damn tempting. Can you imagine being Hughes thinking you have a shot at playing for the Hawks, only to have NJ come out on top?
Still most likely doesn't get him to Chicago, skating with Kane. Can't hardly imagine what a dream skating with Kane would be, not just because he's so dynamic, but the ability to learn from him and Toews? Holy shinola, what a dream, but hey I'd take the Rags over the Devils - sort of maybe anyway. There’s a decent shot the Devils take Kakko if he kills it at the Worlds for the men’s team. No. 14. Arizona Coyotes
Raphael Lavoie, RW, Halifax-QMJHL
Sept. 25, 2000 | 6-foot-4 | 198 pounds
Craig Morgan: Coyotes president of hockey operations John Chayka insists he won’t draft for need, but Arizona selected nine defensemen in the past two drafts and has a deep pipeline of goalies. The prospect system has the same need as the NHL roster: high-end, skilled forwards. In a forward-heavy draft, Lavoie could fit the bill. Once a sure top-15 pick, Lavoie had a somewhat disappointing season (32 goals, 73 points) and there are character concerns from some scouts, but he has size, speed, skill and he is having a terrific postseason for the Mooseheads. He led the team with 13 goals and 20 points through 10 playoff games.
Pronman’s take: In Lavoie, the Coyotes add a highly talented forward to a growing group of young talent up front. Lavoie didn’t have the best regular season, but he’s been awesome in the postseason. He’s 6-foot-4 and has the kind of skill and skating you don’t typically see at that size. He will need work around the edges before he’s NHL ready, but he has an NHL toolkit without a doubt.
Why did Chicago have to be the team that moves into the top 3?
