Yeah we need to sign Ødegaard with A.C Milan since I doubt Real Madrid will use him yet, but it depends on this summer transfer window with a two year buy back deal. He just turn 20 years old some months ago so young to play as part of their first team in Real Madrid as long Modric is playing which is their plan next season. ;)

Anyway I`m exited to see Adam Fox too he just signed with us Rangers and it will help already in October next season! :)

No thanks to Milan turning into a Madrid feeder club.

Some good action in this WC so far!

I realize he's been overshadowed with the Kakko stuff but Adam Fox time again at 10:15.

I've seen D3 college goalies with better lateral movent than this UK guy.

Can you sleepwalk on ice? The US looks like poop.

That's why I'm not buying into the definitive Kakko> Hughes that everyone else on this board has convinced themselves based on these last few games.

Kakko is one of the top players on a team that is always the most structured and well coached programs on the national stage.

USA hockey is a mess and its not a shock that Hughes is going to be overshadowed under two of the worst coaches in the NHL on a much deeper roster.

I do think that the larger narrative- that Kakko is a more developed player and that Hughes may take a year or two longer to become what he can be- is fairly accurate.

So much of prospect projection is development curve. Hugh Jessiman was exactly the same player at age 17 that he was at age 22. How much will Hughes grow/improve versus Kakko? NYR certainly aren't worried too much about 2019-2020, but what about 2022?

Just looked at the US’ coaches, woof. It’s also worth noting that Hynes is an assistant which most likely will be Hughes’ coach in a few months. Hynes and the Devils won’t get a better first hand assessment than that.

Great Britain lost their past 2 games 17-0 and they're tied with the US 1-1 after one. They've also had quite a few chances. Sad performance by the US so far today.

Blashill, Bylsma, and Hynes. Not a good look for Drury.

I think the US has been fine today. They're gonna finish with a boatload of shots and 6-7 goals, which is fine. You can definitely make the argument that they've had too many breakdowns and should not have allowed a single goal to Great Britain, let alone what will probably be 2 goals and 30 shots, and that's fair. But at the end of the day, the US is a vastly superior team, the box score should reflect that, and quite frankly I think the US just came into the game looking to coast by--which for one of the very few times in my life, I will actually argue that approach was okay.

Crosby was good, but very far from great, his first WJCs. I saw it live on site. 4th line C. He was really small and weak, but a real spark-plug with the puck. A few times Ds had a really hard time containing him when he rushed the puck more or less from his own end, but he wasn't very effective. He was 1.5 years younger than Hughes is now. 1.5 years later Crosby scored 102 pts in the NHL and won the Art Ross unless I am mistaken.

As I understand it, Crosby worked extremely hard those years. I wouldn't bank on a great improvement unless you work harder than everyone else and can stay healthy. With the pressure, options and belief in yourself that comes on 1st overall picks, they also often put in that work load. Hughes seems like a really ambitious kid.

These things will go back and forth. Like I said to that Finnish kid who was policing all posts that didn't hype Kakko, we can only lean back and be patient. Enjoy the ride when its going at full speed and be patient when it doesn't.

Good to hear about Seider. I am a little shaken up after hearing confirmation today that a player I like a lot (Tobias Forsberg) that played for Leksand in Allsvenskan was paralyzed hitting his head against the boards earlier this season. Him and his family wanted his status to be confidential after it happened, so it wasn't reported much about it at all, but there were of course some buzz. Doesn't look like that much, but boom, paralyzed from the waste and down...
