The problem is Mara ...Tisch has to figure out a way to move John Mara away from day to day and bring in a pro. Also no rush now maybe see how Belicheck situation flushes out. Giants better be careful they could become Knicks
While the Giants have the 2nd fewest wins in the NFL over the past 5 years, they are no match for the Jets in being the Knicks.

Rhule being a top, new coaching candidate who formerly worked for the Giants and by so many accounts wanted this job really badly not even getting interviewed is not my favorite look.

That contract Rhule got is embarrassing. I can’t blame the Giants for not wanting to match that. If he ends up a disaster you’re forced to eat 3-5 years of it. I’m sure Judge only got 3 years, maybe 4

I like this hiring. Judge has worked under Bill Belichick AND Nick Saban at Alabama. I also like getting someone from the Patriots who isn't Josh McDaniels.

How is not hiring Rhule a "complete embarrassment"? And what's so great about Rhule anyway? He has had some (emphasis on some) success in college with one season of experience in the NFL - not just with the Giants. He seems like a disappointment waiting to happen.

They don't count against the cap. I won't cry if some billionaire will have to pay some millions tô a guy for 5 years.

Anyway, hopefully Judge hás more Power in personnel decisions than Gettleman. One man can dream.

He’s got Belichick’s blessing, he’s been on Saban’s staff and reportedly, much like Reid did for Harbaugh when he moved him into a coaching position that would give him more exposure to become a head coach, Belichick did the same for Judge.

It’s hard for anyone to be a worse play caller than McAdoo or Shurmur so odds are this team will be better offensively but if Betcher is still here (I can’t even recall if he was retained) their D will still be a weak point

I think the Giants are prepping the ground for a transition from Gettelman to Kevin Abrams.

Perfect coach for Gettleman to push around. This is ridiculous, and Rhule apparently called the Giants while inside the panthers building to get them to match/entice him to keep the door open and they said no.

The contract Rhule got is pretty wild but the real issue is that it sounded like he was the Giants guy and they didn't bully their way into talking to him first.

At least get an interview to present your case and if you get defeated by the Panthers godfather offer its not the end of the world.

Dream scenario: Bill Belichick retires from the Patriots along with Tom Brady, Stephen Belichick goes to the Giants as the defensive coordinator, and Bill Belichick returns to the Giants as a special consultant.
